My poor old Rustler is in need of a full rebuild.I figure since winter is coming it will be a good time to do it. It's an older Rusty that I upgraded to the 2.5 and my engine still has allot of life left so I'm ok in that department.I just picked up new rims and tires and a new Crowd Pleazer body but its mostly stock.I've been looking at the RD hop ups.I hear they are very good.I plan on getting the carbon fiber shock tower and upper deck.I'm also looking at some RPM parts.I found the A-arms but can't seem to find the front or rear bearing carriers? Do they even make any? I will hopefully get to do some racing next summer and want to get the Rustler up to speed but I don't want to dump a ton of cash into it.What other worth while hop ups will be worth the money and get me the most performance out of it?

You can't go wrong with RD, I have all of their stuff on my rusty and havent had a problem with any of it. Very durable parts! The RPM arms are also great, light but also very strong. As for the bearing carriers RPM doesn't have any for the nitro rustler, only electric from what i have seen. But again RD makes those parts.

I saw that RD makes alloy carriers too and was leaning towards them.I also found the New Era ones but I've heard allot of people say to stay away from them. Also I can't seem to find a CF front shock tower on RD's site? Also what about the diff? I see Traxxas makes a ball diff but is it really worth the extra $$ to replace the stock one?

From what i have heard the ball diff can be tricky, alot of people say to stay away from it.

You ever hear of anybody having problems with the planetary setup in the rustler??

I really like the RD Racing CF shock towers on mine. It stopped a lot of flex. I also installed a GPM upper deck (blue aluminum)...It didn't need it, but it looks cool. The best upgrade in my opinion, besides the shock towers, are MIP cvd's..They stopped a lot of slop in the drive train...You might want to consider an aluminum rear bulkhead..I've broken two.
I also have had NO problems with the stock planetary differential.

GPM makes some good stuff but their anodizing is weak. If you get 4 different things in blue you will get 4 diffferent color blues.

For the planetary gears i have shreaded them once. replaced them and it has been fine ever scence.

Sweet, thanks for all the tips! This is what I'm going to be getting

RD Graphite towers front and rear
RD alloy bearing carriers front and rear
RD +/- 1 degree rear a-arms mounts
RD carbon fiber front tie bar
RPM arms front and rear

I've already got the MIP CVD's but I think they're the wrong ones. The part number comes up as a Stampede but the clown at my lhs swore to me they would work. They're a little short and I had to slide the cups out a bit to get them to not pop out but they do work. I'm also thinking about the bulkheads.New Era sells front and rear alloy bulk heads.I've broken to of the front bulkheads already so I'm thinking they would be worth it.Other than that the only other things I'm considering are the RD CF deck and the RD 3.2mm chassis.
