hi

I don't have any idea why but my car won't start.

I put the fuel in, i turned the transmitter on, i turned the car on, i primed the fuel, i put the glow plug heater in, i pulled the pull start.

I didn't pull it diffently then than i did last time, and last time it started in just 3 pulls.

I'm now stuck with a car that i've just bought, just got all the bits for and that won't start.

Can someone please help me out here?

Thanks

Rush evo man

Did you check the glow plug? Is the glow plug driver charged? The easiest way to check is to remove the glow plug, put it in the glow driver and if it light's up a nice orange color, it's good.

Moved to appropriate forum.

I am going with ClintD here.Did you forget to charge it? Let us know.

have you removed the plug and tried to plug it into the ignitor?

Did you leave fuel in the engine or tank?

yeah, i filled it up with new fuel today.

The connection is fine aswell, i checked.

I also tried agian a minute ago and i checked if the engine was flooded. It wasn't.

What do i do?

Dude, did you oil up the carburator? I had that problem with my nitro rush, all i needed to to was put some oil in the carburator, and engine block. It works fine now. Give it a shot of oil and let me know how it works out.

Try turning the car power off, manually open the throttle to 1/4 and make sure you have something in front of the car to stop it rolling foward. Try starting it again. Once the engine has started and is revving, turn the car's power on and the engine will return to idle. New engines can be really tight and need a little encouragement to get them going. Also make sure you haven't set your idle control too low - check this by taking the air filter off and checking the air gap - at idle, it should be about the thickness of a credit card. If your carbie is completely closed, no matter what you do, the engine won't start.

Did you break it in..... I know its a stupid question, but it could happen. And Make sure its nit flooded, that could be another problem that i havent seen posted yet.

I wouldn't suggest that.
Having a new guy try to deal with a runaway might not be a good idea.
Can I suggest turning the throttle trim up (idle up) with the radio?
Just to get it started, then turn it down after it's running.
This way if it takes off, he will still have control.
I ALWAYS turn my radio on and car power on before I start my car.
Might not be what everyone does, but thats what I do.
Just my 2 cents.

Yeah thats probably common sense. I was more meaning up against a wall or something. Eitherway, get that throttle partially open some.

Also, did you fiddle with anything before you had the problem, e.g taking the back plate off? It could also be that you're loosing compression.

Most of all, if you're really stuck, just take it to your LHS. I've been to mine a few times with problems I couldn't fix myself. They'll know what to look for, make sure your needles are set correctly and try to get it started themselves.

Don't stress buddy - nitro rc is great, but it takes work and can be frustrating.

thanks nitromad

Your alot of help. I just did that and it worked.

When it ran out of fuel I took it back inside so it could cool down but also stay warm.
A few hours after that i took out again. I just turned the reciever and then the car on, Put some fuel in, primed the fuel, put the glow plug heater in and it started in 4 pulls.

Thanks again nitromad.
You fixed my car.

:D

I'm really glad that worked for you this time,....but I'm with ratso, i would never start my truck with the switch off ....

Hey really glad you got it going buddy :) Have fun!

p.s A safer way of getting that throttle open is to use the throttle trim on your controller, if you're concerned about a runaway. Open it up to about 1/4, start the car and then wind it down to its usual idle.
