What weould you guys recomend model wise for a daily carry glock. I have always been attracted to them, and sooner or later I'm going to put mine in the safe and, and grab a glock, I would prefer it to be a nice small packaged .45 if there i such a thing ;)

Right now I carry a .32 stainless Rossi revolver, It's the version that takes Smith and Wesson ammo, it's not .32 or .32 mag. It's just got a lot of beef in shell. It's got a decent length barrel, not to short not too long. The positives are accuracy, quiet, simple, and very smooth.

The downside being slow to reload, and the shells are WAY out there expensive.

My wife carries a Berretta Tomcat .32 One look and I had to have that one for her. It's tiny so she doesn't have to be worried about it being seen. It's double action, and the barrel flips open, so she doesn't have to pull back the slide. Anyhow, we took it out, and its WAY too loud for her, not very accurate either. Good for short range self defense, but she just doesn't like it.

Blah blah I'll ramble all day. Anyways, can you guys reccomend a good Glock for daily carry for me? Maybe a small quiet pistol for her too. There's just so much out there.

Hey Lykan - Opinions run VERY HIGH when it comes to guns in general with "gun guys". THe biggest gun debates to this day are AK-47vs.AR-15 and the merits or lack theirof of 9mm. Both of these debates always turn into mundane chit slinging fests amongst ignorant biased morons. 9mm is an excellent caliber and especially for those that can't handle the recoil of other calibers to shoot it accurately. Shot placement and general accuracy are key when it comes to self deffense.

The only caliber that should be un-invented is .25Auto as it's genreally less effective then good ole .22LR and it's a gizzilion times more expensive for ammo...lol. .25Autos belong in the garage. The bottom line when it comes to handguns is being able to accurately shot them and practice, practice, practice. "Better a .22LR on your hip then a 357Magnum @ home in the gun safe".

.32 is an effective round but I definitely prefer 9mm or .40S&W to it. ALlot of younger people are really into "Glocks" for a plethora of reasons. Glock calls their pistols the "Safe action sytem" as it's not a clearly defined Single or Double action pistol. I know LEO's that have shot themselves in the leg with their Glocks. I DEFINITELY wouldn't say that GLocks are "unsafe" but they aren't nearly as safe as a Double-Action pistol. It's all relative though like everything in life.

If you wanna get a plastic Fantastic, I wouldn't reco a Glock in .45 as I don't like the way the "synthetic" lower handles the recoil. I would reco a Good ole compact (they also make sub-compact models but they're way to small for my tastes and the handles are to short) Glock 19 in 9mm or the same exact size Glock in the great .40Smith and wesson caliber. I can't think of the model off hand.

Peace

I'm surprised this thread isn't erased already...oh well, I think someone should move this to the FFA because my lil cuz was asking me what this guy was doing with his gun, I said he was gonna shoot all off these little kids...Boy did he run! Then I told him he was joking, and I got grounded.
Well The point is, someone move this plz?

Lol dude. NOthing personal but your starting to sound like a whiney liberal. I didn't c anywhere in the rules where you couldn't discuss guns but only couldn't post any for sale or trade. I'm not a gun freak but I like to excercise my constitutional rights like many in this country.

Considering your handle, Their's allot of humor and ironie to you bro. Have a nice day.

FYI....I'm a bleeding heart Libertarian.

Peace

lol I didnt mean to sound whiney or whatever, I was in a bad mood, getting grounded for a couple weeks insnt really my favorite pasttime.

Is it auto, or semi? and what is your exact use for this..

FYI for your own future refference. If anyone in the USA claims to have a Full-auto and they don't claim to have to be a Class III license holder then they're either.....

A. Full of chit
B. Eventually going to have the Nazi's know as the BATF raid their house and send their arse to Jail for having an Illegally converted Full-Auto.

Full AUto and legal pre-ban Machine guns are expensive as sin. The average Price for an Excellent condition MP5 Sub_machine gun is around $12,000. The average price for a nice full Auto AR-15 depending on model is $9,000. This is just the price you pay for the actual gun and doesn't include Stamp and various other fees that can exceed $500 per machinegun. Assuming you can get a Class III license in your state (forget about it in Cali) you looking @ waiting a year or longer to get your gun after you've already payed for it.

The funny thing about allot of guns guys, I know guys with easily $45,000 worth of Legal Machine guns but they're driving around in a clunker car worth maybe a grand..lol. Guns are a tools that demand a ton of respect. Unlike RC's, Guns aren't "toys".

I'm done preaching...lol.

Peace

barett 50 cal. heard them stories of rippin dudes in half yet?:arrr: < he got shot in the eye so he wears a eye patch "arrrrrrrr me maties, dont be playin wit dem dar guns yarrrrrrrrrrr."

Hey lykan i would suggest a Walther P99 in your choice of calibers that they make, 9mm, .40 S&W.

You can see it Click HERE

They are very safe, the trigger is the safe, but there is a decocker that safely and does not harm the firing pin, so you can decock it while it is loaded, if you please, Double action, 10rd clips and it is made ambidextrous. Plus you have a choice in color if that is an issue to you, EVERYONE LIKES TO PICK!

Plus i personally have one in military green with .40 S&W and a 20 rd box of the ammo is like 8 bucks. Not bad. I rest my case.

OR if you still have your mind set on a fantastic plastic, what you specified would be found in:

the relatively small Glock 30 Which is .45 and has a 10rd clip OR

The very small Glock 36 which is also .45 and has a 6rd clip.

Hope that helps you.

Hey Bforum,

That's funny that you mention a Walther P99. I bought a Walther P22 http://www.carl-walther.de/englisch/defense/defense-53.html without the target barrel and it turned out to be a total POS. I've always been happy with little ole Walther pistols and I wanted a quality 22lr plinker. I talked to my LGS (local gun store.lol) and it turns out that TONS of people that bought that model have been having problems with it. They offered to fully refund me the price of the gun as they think Walther is going to recall them.

If you look @ the new Walther polymer pistols the simalarities are easy to c. I'm assuming that the P22 and your P99 share some designs and possible design flaws (I'm assuming this). So you haven't had any problems with your pistol?? The mag "catch" on the P22 is apparently defective and would pop out all the time and the gun was jamming with various types of ammo. THen you couldn't fire the pistol when the mag dropped an inch due to the mag safety..lol. I'm just happy that I got my money back as that gun was frusterating to say the least.

Lykan - Depending on how much money you have to spend I could reco allot of AWESOME quality pistols from experience. The Sig-Saur's are AWESOME and have the best factory trigger and trigger pull of any pistol I've ever shot, they're reliable as they get to. The only problem with SIgs is they can be pricey but they're worth every penny IME and IMO. Their's actually some great and proven pistols out on the market now in Polymer frames for under $500 in 9mm or 40S&W if you don't have allot of money to spend. The average gun store price of a new Glock 19 is around $550.00+ tax.

Peace
