I bought this little beauty at Wal-Mart, it is 2 gallon, runs on 120volt and is 100psi max and it comes with a 25ft recoil hose, all for $100 bucks.
I know it's not the best nor the biggest but it's all I need and it works great for blowing off my truck and I can use it for air brushing also

Excellent deal, we have the same deal here, we can also get the mini power washer, which I did. Works great.

about 80psi regulated, which is great, you can easily run an 1/2"impact driver off it. No more lug wrench for you!

Air tools, get a cheap set for about 100$ worth thier weight in gold.

The recovery rate is whats going to get you. I have a craftsmen pancake compressor. Works great for cleaning my RC's. The one thing you will definately want to invest in is a good set of ear plugs. Trust me. Between the compressor staying on and the High decibals pounding away on your ears, you have to hem them. You will also want to make sure you have goggles on. Aside from that, good choice! can't beat the price.

What, you become a mod and forget how to spell? THEIR instead of THIER. THIER reminds me of THIEF. Anyway, you are correct about pneumatic tools being worth their weight in gold.

0.7 scfm at 90psi on average

does that answer your question EP?

Yes the recovery rate isn't the greatest but it's not bad either. The sound is not bad at all, I have it in my little workshop and it's very tolerable.

Exactly. It's been awhile since I was doing the whole pneumatic thing and couldn't remember the exact measure for compressors. Thanks.

Oh yeah, where can I get one? Also, will the noise be really annoying in the living room (it's my current workshop)?

You can pick one up at Wal-Mart

The noise is not that bad, the best I can describe is that it sounds like an electric razor on steroids

I remember my old electric razor was like something from the Flintstones and could rattle the pictures off the walls. Can you be a little more specific maybe in DB or something like a 454 w/ 4 barrel and glass packs or something?

Here is the blow gun that I picked up to attach to my air hose, it works great also and the long stem can get in the cracks and hard to reach places on my truck.

LOL! It's just one of them words that doesn't stick right in my head.:D

EP, I don't know the actual DB level of noise it produces but it won't rattle the pictures off your walls I promise

One other thing guys if you are running air tools. Make sure and install a filter to remove the moisture otherwise it will make short work of ruining your numatic tools. X

The noise from the massive airflow against the vehicles themself is the noise I was talking about protecting your ears from more so. Its what you can't hear that is doing a lot of damage there ;)

The noise from the compressor can be bad for the ears too, especially in small enclosed areas for extended periods of time. I can easily use the compressor for 20 minutes and not think twice. With a slow recovery rate the compressor usually stays on the whole time. In a 10x12 room that can become loud fast.

Or maybe your fingers can't hit the keys you want them to hit, it's a sign of old age.

So it's nothing like the Flintstones electric razor I still have.
