Basicly done :D

well...yesterday was a crazy day at work (opening of the bow hunting season for moose)..didnt get to do much on the Revo..i actualy had to do some real work ...lol

but today was different :D ...did all the tweaking on it ...had trouble adjusting the throttle linkage so that the carb fully opens ..also had some return spring issues ....but its all good now :D

i put the wheelie bar and bumpers on ....I'm just waiting on the body to get here ...but i wont let that stop me from firering it up tomorrow if its nice out ...i also plan on spraying the roll hoop with black plasti dip but there is no rush for that

so here it is , RTR Revo .26 :D

well took it for a test run ...still have to fine tune it ..but DAMMMMM!!!!...i can flip it on its lid on take off :D:D ..lol....ill have to adjust the wheelie bar ...i also have to do a bit of modifications to my roll hoop ...well roll hoop and the chassis ...when it flipped , it bent the chassis a hair ..ill have to put some sort of brace under the chassis where the roll hoop connects ...will also have to put a curve in the lip that sticks out from hoop....oh ..so it doesn't grab as much when it flips ...oh ya ...stronger screws to ..lol..

heres a few short vids :D...ill have to get used to that much power :hehe:...compared to the 3.3 , all i can say is !!WOW!!:D:D

Well Done Mate.. Great Job

You have inspired mr to start my own Revo project...

Are you gonna put a centre Diff in so it dosent wheelie with all that power...??
If it was me I probably wouldnt for a few months...

chassis / hoop brace

Great all around job on the build. You now have a unique mill in a clean, well-built rig.:) I love it when a plan comes together.:)

thanks ;) ...yep ..its unique :D ...and i love it when a plan comes together to ;) :hehe:

thanks ...

its fun building yourself ...you can modify stuff as you go ..you should go with a bigger engine like me ...the torque wicked :D

as for the center diff , i thought about it ...but i will try a bigger clutch bell first to tame some of that torque ..:hehe:...i have a 15 on now ...ordered a 17 last night ..and got an 18 today in the mail with my new baby ( that will be another post ..lol )

chassis / hoop brace

well i made a steel brace for my chassis and roll hoop today ...havent tested it out yet ..it should help prevent some bending in the future ...its pretty thick and wicked stiff...it ties in with the roll hoop at each end ....also put some 1/4 inch bolts instead of the small weak ones ...those should be harder to bend as well ..lol

some guys might think I'm nuts adding heavy steel to the truck like that ...but i dont race ...so i dont give a crap about weight ..lol...i know the engine can push it :D

You may want to bevel that leading edge a bit. Will help if you end up high centering on something. I did that with a steel wear bar on a skidplate I made for my aftershock:

Without the bar, I was wearing right through the skid I made and it was a PITA to make with the tools I have. I did not want that thing grinding through and having to make another!

Also, you can get some nice 4 or 5mm countersink bolts and go up from underneath with a nut on top. Removes more stuff from getting hung up. I'm sure you have a countersink bit laying around. I got one a year or two ago and man, I wish I had that bit 10 years ago! Makes making a skidplate so much easier, better functioning and looking.

I'd run another bolt through the chassis to lock that plate down on both sides of the tunnel so your not relying really at all on the engine bay area of the chassis for support.

Means you have to take some stuff off, but that's what I'd do.

That's some thick stock! I don't have access to much, so all I can usually get is what lowes, menards or ACE has laying around.

It doesn't matter how things look (which yours isn't bad at all) or how heavy it is... it's how much of the brick wall you take with you!

yeah ...i plan on beveling the edges a bit ....and i plan on putting another bolt exactly where you said ;) ..you must be reading my mind ...lol

i did think of the countersink bolts to ...but couldnt find any the size i wanted ..this should do the job for now

cool thanks ...lots of stuff there ;) ...saved it for later needs .....

i looked at my set up again , and i dont have much of a choice to bolt it from under ...on one side , its pretty close to the clutch bell with just the bolt head ..but i might just weld the nuts on the bottom of the hoop , would save allot of work in the end ...that will be a winter project ..lol

Finished product

got my Revo body in the mail today :D....so i took it with me at the office to trim it and put a few decals on it ;) ..i went with a normal Revo body ...i kinda like them , they have cool graphics on them ..so here it is :D

now I'm just missing some RCNT decals to put on it ;) :D

Ya got a kind of sleeper look there, I like it. Is that a t-maxx wheelie bar or revo? Looks just like my maxx wheelie bar.

thanks ;) ..but what do you mean by ''sleeper look '' ( sorry I'm french canadian..lol )

its a Revo wheelie bar...had it on my other Revo ...i figured that one would need it more with all the extra torque ;)

sleeper means something that seems slow from the look of it, but is actually fast

wiki-
an automobile that has been modified to improve its performance without changing its outward appearance; the British term for this is Q-car

The only "mid-block" engine i know of is the picco .26. Which is a big block foot print with small block head and exhaust port. Crank is shorter than big block as well.

You should post it with your .28 in that setup... :)
