lol...i know alot of people who would like my job ;) ....I'm getting paid and i get to do what i want to kill time :D .....i also just have over a month left of work ;) ...then i get 6 months off ( until fishing reopens in the spring ) :D

well...not doing office work today :D ( got 2 days off ) ..but that didnt keep me away from the Revo :D

decided to build a roll hoop...the stock plastic one wasn't high enough to protect the engine ...so i heated , hammered and bent some pieces of flat steel and thats what i ended up with ;)

picture.php

then , me and my buddy were looking at it and felt there was still something missing ...so i cut another small piece and added it at the top to make some sort of lip to protect the engine better ....

so heres the finished product ;) :D ..i kinda proud of what i ended up with :hehe: :D...should do the job ;)

let me know what you guys think :)

now it wont matter how it lands ...there is no way the engine will hit ....i rolled it on the floor in every way possible ...and the engine is safe :D:D

Looking good Mac! I need to start making some custom stuff for my E-Revo and get some pictures up as well..

Guessing you don't have a welder? You may want to figure out how to put something in there to keep it from squashing side to side. I made something similar on my savage... just way more hack. I should have spent more time on it. Without the struts in the middle, it tends to just squash and hit the engine anyway. With the struts... I can pretty much stand on it (250lb guy).

The term "modge podge" comes to mind when I look at some of my stuff... lol

thanks NitroRC :)

hey..at least its solid and does the job ;)

my dad has a small welder ...just didnt feel like getting it ...but i might put a few tacks on it ....and as for squashing , it should be ok ...its pretty stiff stuff ..made it out of 2 6 inch angle bracket i got at the hardware store ....ill see how it performs ..ill add a cross brace if it need it ;)

Roll bars are funny things. You don't think they will bend and stop doing their job right up until they don't. ;)

lol...thats a nice bend ...i made sure the re-harden all my bends ...but after seeing your pic ...ill play it safe and add a cross brace ...it can't hurt anything ;)

I'm impressed...
How does it affect putting the body on...??
I suppose you just raise the body posts...??

it doesn't really affect it ..ill just have to trim it a bit where the lip from my roll hoop sticks out...its not that much higher than the stock one ...and with the stock one , there was about 1/2 inch clearance from the top of the body ..i might have to adjust the body posts a bit ...but it should sit right ;)

Com'on Mate...
All those days at work...
I expected it to be finished by now...

Or maybe you have just been as unlucky as the other 99.99% of workers out there and you have actually been working at work ;)

All jokes aside, Looks great
And your work station is 10 times better than mine...
