I am pretty sure i am gonna run this next race season. I guess I shouldnt really be in a rush to get it now :shrug:
 
it's up to you. I ran all last year, well into Nov. With the Bridgeport track close to us, it will be very convenient to learn the dynamics of the car before you actually race it on opening day. For me, I just want it asap.
 
Everyone doubted the Bridgeport track now it's the hot poop.

Anyways, Mugen makes the best cars period imo, they dont release cars so frequent either, parts are easy to find, they are the most durable, etc.

I may end up not buying it since I want to get into 1/8 scale.

No one ever doubted the track. The track surface is fine ... with a few issues. It's the area that really sux. Read the write up I did on the track because it really isn't "hot poop." It's only convenient for tuning suspension. As a racing venue, it's probably the worst track to go to because of poor facilitation for parking, pit area .... yadda yadda yadda. Almost all the racers that were there had the same complaint ... the area sux, but then again ... it's Bridgeport.

As far as Mugen being the best, well that's your opinion but don't regurgitate info that's not based on your own personal experience especially if you haven't had another car of it's particular caliber in your possesion in a racing situation.

I know it's my opinion, thats why I said 'IMO" and it is based on my experience.

As far as the track goes, I know the area sucks, Bridgeport is a terrible area, period. They're apartments near by but at least the whole track is fenced out.

The pits are also a bit small.

BUT, the track is self is great which is very importent, traction wise, many different layouts can be applied, the stand is fairly taller than floydes, its permenent, etc.
 
As I said, read the write up. Traction is variable but decent. Spraying track prep is necessary to combat track issues. Many layouts? not too many but can be changed up a bit and easy to memorize ... not a challenge at all. The stand ... well, we didn't use it when BARCAR came up there. Tom Sr and the rest of us just laughed at it and pulled it aside. It's not suitable for a competative race situation only for bashing. The stand at Floyd is built like that on purpose since it also works as the storage for the track as well as being the limitations that the park officials gave them.

BARCAR needs to go back to Edison. Bridgeport is only for convenence.
 
you can only do a total of 13 different layouts on the bridgeport track. the track is wide open and designed for 1/8ths. i personally like technical tracks. it show who the good drivers are and eliminates hacks. that is why i personally like indoor electric racing. the tracks are tight and technical.

Agreed.

I like the bridgeport track though. My only complaint was the pit area . I just want to run where I can in a competitive atmosphere as much as I can before the season is over. Basically I am running where ever Diver is running :cheers:
 
Edison is a temp track and I dont think it's layed out/open 7 days a week like Bridgeport.

13 layouts arn't enough?

If it's built for 1/8, you can't really complain because you don't own 1/8 and drive a touring car. It's around 170ft straight which is a perfect size imo.

The stand imo is OKAY.

As far as traction goes, it feels a lot better than floyds.

Correct, but it is up and running on race day and that is what is important.
 
And has just as much traction as bridgeport ... both prepared and unprepared with traction compound. Had to do it at bridgeport after a few runs. At best, it was driveable ... very loose.

As I said, bridgeport is convenient for those that want to do suspension tuning since it's already laid out. 13 configurations, nice, but still not a challenge. It's infinite when it can be laid out and challenging since you don't know what is planned.

You're more than welcome to tag along. It'll be pretty much prospeed most of the time since that's the only place running every weekend. Offroad, well ... let's see where that takes us.
 
i reserved 2 at my LHS. when it will arrive is the question. i still don't know the street price but i don't care. who else is getting one?
 
The price should be under $400 if you ask me, anything more is asking to much, its not even the prospec version.

I believe this car will be the best right next to the RRR.

I am not buying it now. I will wait a few months. I will have it for the first race day of next season though. Now the prices are going to be insane. Every hobby shop will hike up the price which they should do . But I am no longer in any rush. can't run in the snow :shrug
 
that's why you have to buy it from a hobby shop that you know won't take advantage of you. the price of the kit is dependent on how much the distributor is charging. i am going to "guestimate" that the price is going to be in the range of $380-$450, but hopefully more at the $380 mark.

i just want to build something over the winter.
