hi everyone I've just run in my engine i have a cen mg 10 tr the car is now on the floor running around ok, then when it gets to half the tank engine cuts out I've noticed i loose vacum from nitro tank to carb for some reason. there are no holes in pipes which connect tank to carb I've checked the pipe which connects from top of tank to exhaust and thats fine.I've leaned the the high end needle slightly.now when i prime carb when i want to start the engine back up fuel does go in engine but on starting engine with glow plug i loose vacume for fuel glow plug is tight in head at time, I've never come across this before anyone know what problem is many thanks.

Sounds like a simple air leak in the tank. Dismount the tank from the model, and do an underwater pressure check (hold the tank under water while pinching the pressure line and blowing into the pickup line). If you have an air leak, you'll literally see it.

If not, you could have an air leak in the engine itself. Likely culprits are the o-ring seals in the carb itself. I've seen a few needle o-rings be just literally a hair out of spec, causing an air leak.

thanks for the info heart break but this cen is brand new every time i get to half a tank it just cuts out, as I'm still running a rich could it be that, but seems weird that it stops on half a tank

you may have a leak in the tank at a seam (usually a seam will be around the 1/2 way point).

do you notice if it stalls when you turn right or left? theres a small phenomenon called the left turn lean out. which basically says when you turn left, with some speed on the turn, the inertia of the fuel on a left turn pulls against the fuel back against the draw of the tank, causeing the motor to go momentarrily lean, and in some cases causing the motor to stall. see if it only happens when your turning left around 1/2 tank. the way to check it to run an oval pattern with right turns only. if it still flames out, then you may be a tad rich ( possible but unlikely ) or have a leak somewhere that only starts to be an issue at around 1/2 tank.

i would also call CEN talk with them. there have been tank issues on new RCs before, so they ll likely send you a new tank.

lastly be sure the full system is Air tight, inlcuding the tank cap,
maybe the tank is Over pressurizing around 1/2 tank, causing the lid to pop. thus letting all the pressure out.

gl and keep us up to date on your issue/fix.

does the engine have good compression? check your fuel line as well.. could be cut

hi,everyone phoned up the people who i bought it from and they have told me their has been a bad batch of cen engines that they over heat after about half a tank of nitro, so I've sent the engine back plus the tank and they are going to send a new higher spec engine out to me, many thanks for the info guys should be up and running with in the week. :second_place:

awesome!! congrats on solving the problem :):second_place:

hi, can anyone tell me why a brand new engine can only run for half a tank which is 75cc then over heat.

Well, as you use up more fuel, gravity stops helping the fuel go up the line. So less fuel=leaner engine. Some tanks have addressed this issue rather well. Other tanks... not so much. Yours could be one of the ones that has an issue with that. Hopefully the new one they're sending you should address the issue.

Interesting side note.... Do baffles in the tank affect this? the stock maxx tank has only a couple small ones that barely hold any fuel and only at the sump.
