i want more speed and power for my hb lightning but i dont want to change my engine if it is the gears wat gear settings and wat else will help that
thanx
slick nick

i dont want to run 30% in my buggy because i dont have the money to rebuild the motor all of the time but what kind of pipe would fit and work good on my lightning

it will shorten the engine life slightly but you won't have rebuild it all of the time unless lean it out for racing......that's another story. usually it will require an additional head shim (check with the mfr's specs) and that is all except for the carb re-tune. i've ran a couple of gallons of 30% through my sirio 18, then sold it to one of my friends and he is still using it without problems. good pipes do make a lot of performance gains. i'm not familiar with the 21 that comes in the buggy that you have but some of the folks around here will know. you can always check the mfr's site or email/call them for the answer.

i'm using that one on my sirio .27 ofna / picco has it.

so what else can i do to my buggy for more speed i think i mit run 30% I'm not sure yet but hey why not try one day and see how it runs

the stock engine but i want to wait for it to go dead to buy a new engine because i know the stock engine is junk but it works for now

You want more top end speed or bottom end. Take a pick, usually can't have both.

If you want more snap on the take off, go with a 13T clutchbell, some stiff clutch springs and light clutch shoes. That will let the engine rev a bit before the clutch engages. RB style pipes such as the 63 (for lowend) or 86 (for topend) works well on most engines. I don't know if they make another spur gear for the Lightning, but if they have one with more teeth on it that will help give you a little more lowend. For more topend speed you can try a 15T or 16T clutchbell. Mix and match and experiment until you find something you like.

Changing to 30% won't give you a noticeable difference in performance. No matter which percent you run just make sure you don't run it lean.

ya i know that i made sure that the mecinic tuned my car i was making sure i have my buggy rich and not lean it runs fine but when i get my temp gun I'm gonna lean it out a lil but i think i want more spen because my buggy gets off the line fast

lean it.. you will be suprised... 280-300 the engine will scream and i have over 5 gal thru my 21bb...

stated above i have 5+ gal on one that was close to 300 most of the time

thats sweet i think i will lean it up a bit i think when i got it tuned it was only running like 149 or 189 i think it was 189 though i can't remember

you need it to run in the mid 200s to get any kind of decent performace out of it.

Running a higher nitro content can be better for the engine. If you run a lower content and want more performance then you have to lean the engine out which only take away it's needed lubrication. Using a higher percentage you then have better performance without ruining an engine.
