Which is the more durable basher all around? The 1/10 E revo or the Savage flux? Which has the strongest drive train for 4-6s?

Savage hands down. Traxxas may have a better motor (HPI motor likes to get a little hot sometimes too hot) but if your looking for durability the Savage is the way to go.

i would say the flux just from the beating videos i have seen. i haven't driven either but that flux can take a serious beating.

The short course trucks are also good all around bashers too. I have an HPI Blitz which I got because of racing, but I bash around with it all the time and it is a very worthy basher. The Blitz is alo a lot cheaper too. If your looking into spending that kind of money for a basher you might as well go into brushless. Check out the new XTM RAIL or their also new XT2e, the lhs is starting to stock up on XTM because of the=ose 2 cars as well as www.amainhobbies.com very very good reviews. Before you start back to the whole XTM incident from earlier, I have been doing this part of the hobby for 5 plus years, I know what I'm talking about. I have an XT2 and I beat the you know what out of it. Havent broken 1 part on it yet.

I will always go brushless, piss on nitro as robmob would say and anything other than brushless and lipo in electric is silly....By the way, you are the one who keeps bringing up the XTM thing speedingbullet, twice in this thread already and no one said anything about it lol. I've had experience with XTM, first hand several times, not mine, but still, and I've been less than impressed with their quality. That does not make them a bad company, just not for me. I'm not a traxxas fan either except for the slash, 4x4 slash and merv, all are EXCELLENT rigs. Tmaxx's suck though and thats gotta be their biggest seller I would think.
Speaking of the tmaxx, how is the savage compared when it comes to bulkheads, suspension arms and so on? Do they snap like the tmaxx' when you look at it too fast? :hehe:

No they dont if you know what your doing. Reason I say that is because I live by someone who breaks parts on their nitro savage because they dont know how to put it together.

The reason I brought that up is because it makes me feel like you guys think I'm a no nothing person and that you shouldnt take my advice on anything. I understand that you havent been impressed with XTMS earlier models, but they have made a comeback and the lhs absolutely despised XTM until the brushless RAIL, XT2e, and their 1/18 RAGE came out. He saw how my XT2 held up and was impressed with it. Check out some videos on the XTM brushless cars and at least give them a 2nd chance.

On the otherside I absolutely hate Traxxas, my T Maxx was very weak as well as other peoples T,S, and Sport Maxx's. I have seen a little more durability from the Revo.

If you want durability and brushless put together just for bashing, either check out the RAIL, or get an HPI Blitz, or the HPI Blitz ESE which is a kit but more expensive.

Heres a link to the Blitz kit: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product...itz-ESE-Short-Course-Truck-Kit-w-ATTK-10-Body

I'm not looking for a SC truck, I already have what I want in them, I'm looking at a bad ass MT. But, I'm only asking at this point, I'm not necessarily in the market.

Speedingbullet, all you do is bash traxxas and hype xtm. And yourself. You sound more like a sales person than an enthusiast. Traxxas is common, cheap, and holds up fine. People are not going to change they're minds because YOU bash Traxxas every chance you get. Can it.
SNG, my buddy started off with a 3905(the new version) E Maxx, bone stock. Threw the MM/2200 and 5300 3s Dynamites in it. Then basically had all of the common Maxx problems.:) But he flogs it on the street and can't control it jumping. Always a hard landing. He's broke both diffs(nosed into a landing, on throttle) and rear drive shafts. He runs 40 series Moabs on bead locks too, so he's quite heavy.I believe with a beefy rear driveshaft, stock size tires and a good slipper adjustment, an E Maxx would be just fine on 6s. At the same time, I believe you'll be putting the usual aluminum parts on as time goes on. I wonder how much lighter the E Maxx is compared to the Flux? Weight savings could be a huge benefit as well.

Thanks Matt. From the vids I've seen the savage takes a pounding for sure. I just wonder about the drive train on 6s. What is the flux stock? Isnt it a MM basically?

I love my Revos but I would have to say go with the Savage for brute strength.

Savage all the way. I am thinking about a Flux really hard right now. I have driven one in stock form on 6s and it is ridiculous. Has to be one of the fastest RCs I have ever driven. The Savage in stock form is way stronger than the E-Revo or E-Maxx even though I like all three rigs my money would be on the HPI. The Flux is an un-caged beast. It was damn near scary see that big MT blasting across the field at speeds that would make my Jato 3.3 jealous. I want one!

I saw a flux at my lhs the other day that the guys working there took outside on their break to "test" on 4s. They rolled on the throttle and thing flipped on it's lid. Talk about torque.....

The reason I bash Traxxas is because I own one and its garbage, breaks parts non stop and I know 8 other people that one Traxxas and only 1 likes Traxxas. We all have experienced the common Traxxas experience of constantly breaking parts, but the one that likes Traxxas only runs the Slash 4x4 and the 2x4, which is their only good product. Also not every single one of us owns a T Maxx, in fact I'm the only one, everyone else owns mainly Revos and Rustlers and hate them all with a passion. I say that Traxxas 3.3 is a good motor, and I say they do a very good job explaining tuning and so on. Also if you pay attention XTM isnt the only company I say good things about, depending on what people are looking for is what I recommend. If you look at one of the threads I posted in the buggies forum, youll notice that I recommended getting, Losi, Hot Bodies, XTM, OFNA, and Kyosho. If you look for a monster truck I say Savage/HPI or any Losi.

As for this topic you said durability for bashing, everyone here knows HPI makes more durable products than anyone else and that the Savage is a way better basher than the Traxxas line of monsters. The Savage in nitro and in electric can take bigger hits than the T/E Maxx, or any of the Revos. Also as Metalhead Matt posted, you should spend some extra money to make the Traxxas better, and all his buddy has had for problems is the common Traxxas ones after putting hop ups on it. Savage doesn't take any hop ups and is right out of the box more durable than any monster. Also take into perspective how not one person said to get the Traxxas. To sum it all up, the Savage is a better basher.

Thank you speedingbullet for your, repetitive insight, once again. I know the savage is tougher out of the box by leaps and bounds. Doesn't mean it looks better.;)

In keeping with the topic, speedingbulletbp, we all answered the question with the choices that were given. If he was asking which is the best racer, I would have answered that the eRevo would be a better choice. I have owned many brands of trucks and have preferences for the various kinds of driving that I do. For beginners I will recommend Traxxas products because parts are available at more places than almost every other brand and they have really good tech support as well.
