Mini track DIY options for living room

Looking for non RCP, budget options.

Can anyone recommend a very fine carpet or material I can lay down on a hardwood floor to make a mini track for on road grip? (for off road I'm just going to add jumps and turf, etc.)

The shipping cost on that first link is scary. Might as well buy the Kyosho track.

I've seen people use those fitness mat squares to make their own track.

What car is this for? If your doing mini z, then yes rcp would be the best.

For reference. Here is my basement mini track. Using you know. Regular floor area carpet. Losi Mini B. Custom homemade cardboard jumps.

I was thinking about getting a bunch of turf to do a backyard track. But turf. Or even RC carpet is way too expensive and I have no where to store it. And also with that I would have to make my own custom wood ramps.

You can also go to your local mini z track (if you have one) and see what they recommend. My old local track closed down. He is still trying to find a new spot. Couple of my buddies got smaller rcp tracks for their basement. To actually have some place to run. But they aren't that big. If I can find one, here is a picture of the mini z track we had.
