Right now I got the stock motor out, it does take the notched Team Orion gears for the Micro RS4. I am having to dremel the holes in the motor plate to get my Team Orion BB in

Edit notice in the picture I had the motor backwards on the plate, it goes the other way around.

I chicken scratched RCNT in the motor plate 4 life!

Nice pics blazer. Why are you trying to upgrade the electronics? Something wrong witht the stock stuff?

Servo is weak and a 4 wire wierd deal with the electronics for the servo in the reciever/esc combo. I always got to upgrade, I can't help myself. So it starts with the servo, then I start putting the BB motor in just got that fit pics soon.

If you can post a pic of the stock servo that would be cool. I haven't got a chance to see a mini T up-close yet. Is the stock servo proprietary or can you upgrade easily?

Here is the servo, a micro servo, and a standard servo to give you an idea.

I got the big block motor in not prob. Just some sloppy dremel work and the stock pinion and it was in. The stock motor screws cannot be used as the don't fit in the BB motor's holes

When you take the motor plate off be sure when you unscrew the super long thin screw at the back of the motor plate (you will know the screw as it is the only one) it has this nut on the other side and I didn't notice it. I lost it on my floor and didn't know it was gone until it would'nt screw back in upon reassembly. I looked in the manual to see what it was but the parts blow up didn't have it or I couldn't find it. I had to look on the web and I found a pic of the back of the MiniT, then when I knew what I was looking for I found it. Point being know it's there.

Nice documentation. Everything's clear except the servo part. Did you find a better servo in that same footprint or were you gonna MacGyver one in there?

HB, 1) Oh the humanity! Poor MRS4. and 2) I don't think the RCNT on the plate will get ya stickers (didn't work for me when I tried). And 3) good job so far, looks great, and it'll probably fly when you're done with it with the BB motor.

And as far as MacGuyvering stuff, there was this one time when I had to contact the base, and all I had was a paper clip, a small piece of duct tape and a lima bean......

I broke my servo's plastic gear and had to order another set. I did have to modify the chassis. It is going to work I was just being a stupid trying to test the servo horns range of motion for fitting purposes and I stripped the gear my bad. All is good because with this modification you can still re-install the original servo. You can only screw in 2 screws since you had to dremel the back screw holes but it hold more than adiquit.

NICE work and great thread humbolt....that's how they should come from the factory. I got one like three days ago and sold it to my buddy and I'm happy about it. I'll wait till they come out with a kit or something as I don't wanna spend a chit load of money are parts that should already come from the factory.

UPDATE

Just ordered a new gear set for the the other micro servo but I also ordered a HS-81MG servo that I will put in my minit. Whithout the stock servo saver I am afriad I will just strip the plastic gears on that servo out very quick as the front tires catch the brunt of the impact in a crash do to the front tires sticking out of the body (unlike the micro RS4) so I went with something beefier. I have read the the Hi Tec hs-55 servo fits in the minit without any chassis mod but people are stripping them quickly so be weary of the unmodded quick servo swap.

I recieved my replacement gears today along with my smaller HS-81MG HiTec servo. I will be finishing this mod granted I don't break anymore poop due to my impatience. Look for more pics and more mod info very soon! I will make this mini T badass if it kills me.

OK Servo horn mod and what servo I suggest.

First and foremost sorry for the delay, but it showed me I had the wrong servo to begin with

These are just my suggestions for this mod, you will have to weigh the facts and opinions and make up your own mind.

First off you will want a HiTec 81MG part number 32081S and not the 81 you want the MG, that stands for metal gear. That is important because with my mod you will be installing a HPI Micro horn so there will be almost no impact protection. You will strip gears so don't skimp get the 81MG. Next as I mentioned you will need ]HPI's Servo Arm Set part number 73404

This is the difference in size left is stock, middle is the Hitec 81MG, right is the Hitec micro 225BB. The 225BB and 81MG are the same width and length, but they differ in heigth and thats and the Metal Gear part is why I believe it is correct for this application.

Take the servo horn, the short one not the long one.

cut it like so with a dremel or lexan scissors if you don't have a dremel.

use a reamer and make the hole slightly bigger on both sides (not too much, just a little then test fit the ball piece.

Thanks mcvickj. This thing needs real shocks and Lunsford to make Ti turnbuckles and this truck is race ready. Um Eddy you got to um do some work on yer um truck to keep up! Yeah right mine will be so fast it I will crash into poop the whole time while Eddy laps me, sike!

To be honest, I haven't even touched mine in a week. :no_commen I have been working 12 or more hours a day trying to get my new retail store up and going. The shitter of the deal is I have a 20 X 30 open aria with new carpet just begging to be used as a track. I was hoping you would come by and test it out for me.

You shur did a fine job of modding the hell out of that little off road rat. Have you had a chance to run it yet? It looks like the tires are brand new. The lack of shocks to this point must be eating you alive. All that power with no suspension is a killer.

I heard of someone using ball point pen springs over the shock shafts to help keep it a bit more stable.
