I'm looking to upgrade the servo in my merv. I was wanting something metal geared and waterproof. Checked out Tower and looked at what Hitec servos they have available. Doesn't look like anything fits the bill. Any recommendations?

Other than the 2075 from traxxas I'm not real sure of to many waterproof servo's out, not to say there isnt any. If you werent worried about the warrantee maybe you could try to waterproof one yourself.

Yeah, for as little effort as it takes, sealing up a hitec would probably be the way to go. I don't bomb through much water anyways. Just wanting some insurance for those stray puddles and dewy grass that takes too long to dry.:)

is your old servo any good just stripped mine out are they rebuildable does anybody ever use dual servos

i blew out my stock servo with a curb hit..bought a Hitech metal gear one to use and discovered the awful truth..the traxxas servo has it's own size of spline...so you can't use the OEM servo arm on the hitech servo or any others for that matter...been running the hitech servo arm and it sucks..not enough strength..it flexes and gets jammed...to use the better quality OEM arm you need to use the stock servo..it sucks...no other choice...
