Do I have to change the pinion when I run two batteries in series? My local hobby shop said it wasn't necessary, but I remember reading recommendations to the contrary. What do you guys think?

Are you running the batteries in series or parallel? If you're running them in parallel, there is no need to change the pinion. If they're in series, you will need to change the pinion.

I'm sorry, i am new to electric, I:E: just got it today, and what is the difference between running the batteries in series and parallel????? sorry for being such an electric noob

I've run it twice with the batteries in series with the stock pinion gear. I probably shouldn't do that any more. The thermal protection kicked in the second time I ran it. So I just shut it down. Maybe I'll use the parallel connector until I get around to swapping the gear.

series is for more punch (doubles the voltage), parallel is for more run time (doubles the capacity).

I think:)

oh? it comes with one? really...humm...i was thinking about buying a new Revo..and getting the 2nd battery and the plug for it...was thinking i had to buy the pinion..but if it comes with it that is even better...humm....
