are you running the stock speed control ?

Need a bit more info to be of help, i own that mini myself, so any questions, just ask.

the car is totally stock and just starts stop and starts again
like a synchronised rythmn

try putting the car on a brick with all wheels off the deck, then watch the mechanical speed control whilst you operate the throttle on your transmitter. It may be that the controller is stopping the power whilst travelling from the stop position to the other contact.

Personally, i switched to an electronic ESC to avoid such issues and i have never looked back since.

Mechanical speed control huh? I remember those, if none of the above sorts it out, take some really fine steel wool #0000 or sand paper #1000 grit or up maybe, and lightly hit the copper contacts on the speed control and the wiper arm. They get oxidized over time, and don't make good contact.

Instead of sandpaper or emery cloth, you might want to just use an eraser made for ink. You can also use an electric train track cleaner as well.

hamz, those "train track" cleaners, one is "Track Rubber" (available through "Peco")

Most model railway enthusiasts just use 1000 grit wet 'n' dry on the track though then wipe over that with methylated spirits on a clean rag to remove any further traces of muck build up.

i will try all the above how do i clean the contacts

Generally, you clean the top surface of the contacts on the board, and the underside of the "Arm" contact.

Easiest way to clean the arm, is to slip a piece of 1000grit Wet 'n' Dry under the arm with the sanding side facing the arm and gently slide back and forth between the two.

Finish by cleanin with a soft lint free cloth in the same way.

Personally, i would go with an ESC, it cuts out all that hassle of keep cleaning the Mech SC and is much smoother on power delivery to the motor, but then, thats what I did with my M03 anyway, I will not run a mech SC if I can avoid it.
