i got 2 venom 1200 6 cell packs for my mini revo. i charge them up with my peak charger, slap them in with my series connector. than 1 min later the speed gets cut in half like it lost a battery pack.

recharged and than the same thing happend.

trying to figure out whats the problem. connector, battery pack, ESC

let me know what you guys think

Are the packs warm after you pull them off the charger? You could be false peaking.

I had a similar issue on my old EMaxx brushless conversion when I didn't run lipo's.

Turns out I had a bad cell in one of the packs.

Measure the voltage in each pack after you notice the drop in speed.

yeah the packs get slightly warm after charging (which I'm pretty sure is normal), but not hot in any one area like I've seen in some packs that had a dead cell.

ill check the voltage after there charged than when i get the drop in speed.

Thanks everyone, ill keep this posted just in case someone else has the same problem

Check the voltage at the series connector as well.

may also be the low voltage cutoff, i had this problem with my brushless s systems a couple times, come to find out the esc/motor was drawing to many amps for the packs i had. when i turned the low voltage cutoff off, i had no more problems, i don't use the low voltage cutoff for any of my lipos, when they slow a little i pull the packs out and charge them. eventually it will bite me in the butt, but crap happens.

the problem seems to be that one of my packs is only holding like 6 volts at full charge

I'm guessing that means its a dead cell?

Sounds like it.

To be sure you will need to check the voltage of each individual cell.

Everything you are describing is a carbon copy of what happened to me though and I had a dead cell.

i only bought the packs like a week ago. I'm going to call Venom and see if its covered

Thanks everyone!
