which one?? they are basically the same price. I have never dealt with HPI, just traxxas. I just want something to mess around with. Nothing serious. i dont see any rpm parts for the savage xs though...

Merv are straight up bad ass. Simple as that. They take lots of abuse, I put them up there with slash's or close to it as far as abuse goes and on 3s they are NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I miss mine but some day I'll buy another.

mERV VXL! Like SNG said, they're tough and they're crazy fast on 3s.

The only part I've broken on my mERV is a melted slipper. I only run 3s in it, too.

I have the XS and I will have to say.....buy the MERV. I am a huge HPI fan but the MERV just drives so much nicer. Ok sure granted in a straight line the XS will make the MERV look slow....if you could keep the tires on the ground that is. The XS is cool and tough but to do it over I would have got the Mini Revo.

Yeah. But that's how almost everything is when you have to choose between something. You almost always want to find out what the other one is like.

True... I got to drive a MERV AFTER I had already bought the XS. Had I driven both before I bought, I would have went MERV.

That's just it. All I can do is watch YouTube videos of both. I don't know anyone local who has either

Yeah I know it sucks, honestly I think the Merv is a better set up unless you are looking for pure ballistic speed. The Flux XS is stupid fast for it's size. I just got a new rear diff for mine... need to put it in sometime.
