What's all the hype with this plug ? Everyone at the track is either using, trying to get one or recommending this plug. All the LHS's are out and on back order.

Using 10 % fuel I found that plug easiest to use, engine ran great, idle was great and temps stayed below 250. When I put in the Traxxas 3232 plug all that stopped.

Thats my plug of choice. They last a good long time and are available at my LHS. I have tried other plugs just to get a feel for different products and found them to all be similar in quality.
I will have to add that I tried only the upper end plugs, no bargain brands.

Hey Eddy - I also have been wondering about this plug - I use OS A3 and A8's now - how would the MC59 compare?

I didn't see much of a difference with the A-8 in my 2.5 or .12 TR.
The A-3 ran to cold. I had to order them in and they cost me more than the Mc Coys. Again I run the Mc Coys out of convenience and have no issues with them. I'm sure if my LHS had only the A-8s in stock I would use them instead.

I thought the A3's were hot plugs... Anyways, I like the MC 59 a lot more better, they were from planes, but someone founded a way to use them for cars, if you notice, it might be longer than the A3's or any other plugs. Anyone have any problems with the A3 fauiling(Sp) yet?

Since we've been talking about glow plugs a great deal lately and since mine were boasted as rarely being changed, I went out and bought 10 of these knowing I'd probably need them before the weekend started.

Same here. I didin't know that A3s were cold. I've been using them after I fouled out several McCoys one day. Maybe I need to switch plugs for my .15 CVX??

Does anyone know where to find a plug heat range chart? I used to have one in a mag, but I can't find it.
I just joined this site, seems pretty cool so far. Keep up the good work.

The chart lists both the OS #3 and #8 as being a medium plug.:mex:

My question is, do the different companies use the same baseline temperatures to rate their plugs or are they rated relative to themselves?

Can someone break down the Hot-Med-Cold usage ? When should I use a hot plug, med, cold, etc. I keep getting wrapped up in use a cold plug when the weather is hot and vice-versa.

Akina - very sweet link ! Thanks a bunch. I think part of my tuning woes have alot to do with what plug application I'm using. Again, Thanks !!

I'm actually using OS A3 (medium) plugs on my .15 with 20%.
I might have to try a McCoy MC-9 (cold) and see how different it is.

This is an excellet thread!!
