I already love it and I haven't started it yet! It's sitting here just begging to fly. But Old Man Winter just won't cut the crap so I'm guessing another month before I can run it. That sux!
 
got to the track for the first time with my mayhem for some practice/set-up time...the buggy is great...but i had wrong tires/compound, and needed to completely redo radio setup...

did get the ofna/pico 8-port going..very strong motor..need to change to 13-tooth clutchbell (14 is too much)...

the thing jumps like a frog..had no problems at all..brakes are REAL good...need to learn some set-up for this car, but i think going to 40wt shock oil and no preload will help with cornering, but track was dry and hard packed as hell...so who knows what it will drive like next time...

anyways..i could not be more pleased with my mayhem pro and am about to embark on a quest for another as a back-up...

That is good to hear. I am going to hit the track for the first time with my Mayhem RTR tonight. An O.S. .21RG is in my near future, but for the time being I will settle for the .26 that came with it.

Just ordered my Mayhem Pro today! I bought a Novarossi P5 to go in it. The only thing is looking how the motor will sit, I had to turn the carb around. Now it looks like the idle screw will be difficult to get to due to the pipe's location. I can't wait to get this thing on Wednesday. Anyone have any recommendations for servos?
 
Air. 358 for steering and 357 for throttle and you will be ready to go.

Or you could go KO propo PDS-2363 (throttle) & 2364 (steering) which is what I run.

I used to run and still have Air. 358 & 357 as backups and you will be ready to race......
 
You're going to love it! I just bought my second Mayhem last night. Be sure to take your time breaking your new motor in, itb may be a little slow and somewhwt frustrating at 1st, but it will pay off handsomely in the long run.
 
PS.
I'm thinking of swaping in my REX .28, 8port just to see how bad it will wheelie, although I'm concerned it might grenade the diffs. This same motor will make my Savage wheelie so violently that it flips completely over, off the line,or @ 20-30 mph. Top speed in my Savage w/ an 18t pinion and a 52t spur w/LST tires is around 50-52 mph approxamately. sure would be interesting to see what it would do in the buggy. I think I'll try it this wednesday.

Those Airtronics servos look like monsters. Do I really need that much torque for steering in a buggy? Sounds more suited to a MT. Although, would be nice to know you had all that power and speed available.
 
Well, Mother Nature gave NY a break today and we got over 40 degrees. So I decided it was time to stop staring at it and get it broken in. Ran 2 tanks through it so far. Started right up without a hitch. It's painfully rich right now but I'm letting it go like that for a bit. I may have to start leaning it as it didn't get over 130F while running today. Next tank I'll lean it just a bit to get her warm. I can tell already this thing is going to be a handfull fast. Can't wait for the snow to go...
 
I will tell you when the gate is dropped the only two buggies out front down the straight away is mine and and a kyosho with a painfully expensive motor..
 
I got mine started and have run about 7 tanks through it. This thing is crazy fast with ton of low end power. I have a Novarossi RX21 P5 with a Jammin p-1 pipe. I did end up buying the Airtronics servos mentioned above.
 
Sgt. Blamo/network/ other guys/do you guys have problems with the diffs leaking some oil (on the 46T gear all the time too) ???
so mine is leaking in the middle of the diffs

Nope. My rear diff was leaking, so I pulled it, changed my diff fluid to 1000 wt and buttoned it back up, no leaking since.
 
I would prefer they change the rubberlike o-ring in the diffs to an asbestos like one
 
The only problem I noticed was that the grease on the bevel gear (not the fluid inside the diff) was seeping through the seam in the diff case when I got the car. I tightened up the screws on the case a little and it seems to be fine now.

That's exactly what happened to me, I realized my diff wasn't leaking, but it was the grease from the pinion. I decided to open and change the diff fluid anyway, then buttoned it up. No leakage has occured since. I had also decided to swap out the stock shock towers with the 5mm 7075 towers, what a differance! And while I had it all torn apart, I decided to swap in my REX XR528, 8 port. What a total monster! The thing is making sick power @ 185 degrees! The outdoor temp was about 73. After several passes I began tuning it just a little and @ 200 degrees it was blistering fast with unreal torque. It left two brown streaks for about 12 ft were I formerly had grass (it WAS very short, fine grass)!
