I have just installed a HT625MG servo to operate the throttle/brake.

The OE servo just never had enough grunt to pull the brakes on, but this new one is a cracker.

The only concern i have is when i reach WOT the servo throw still pulls about a couple more mm's and the mill moves slightly, this is not a major problem, but apart from putting a small block on the tranny to stop the extra play in the throw, ie when i reach WOT the stick on the tranny will still move a few more mm's, so besides putting a 'stop' on the tranny do i have any other options.

I hope this is understood LOL

The answer may be staring me in the face.

Cheers

Dave

If I'm understanding your post correctly Dave what you need to do is set the End Points (EPA, End-Point Adjustment). This stops the servo from moving too far like yours is doing (You need to do this for both steering and Brake/throttle.

It is normally a function on slightly better than rtr radios upwards. Check your radios instruction manual to see if it has this function. (Is this in your swift? I Don't know with radio they come with). If these are not set correctly you can go through quite a few servos as they don't like pulling against something immovable for very long............

On my Gemini 2 The amount of servo throw (how much the servo arm moves) is expressed on the little lcd screen as a%-age. Range is I think What I do if I need to set or re-set for some reason my end points is, on the throttle for example is to set this to the lowest available level (40% I think)(least movement) and fully push the stick on radio forward and then gently increase the End point until I see no more movement on servo arm. Then I back it off 2% Does that make sense?

Thanks Ryan, i understand your answer. I have a basic tranny therefore do not have the EPA adjustment (I best start saving for one LOL).

Yes its for me Swift. In the meantime i will stick some sticky pads to the tranny to ensure i dont go past the WOL position on the throttle arm. The steering EPA is fine.

Thanks again mate

Could you not just use a spring to ease the throw?

I suppose that could work, something to think about, but it would have to be a damn tense spring, as the HT625MG pulls nearly 7kg's. LOL

Took the car for a spin last night, put a big grin on me face
