The Mamba Max or the Side Winder, which is better? I am sure that this has been asked before but thought I'd bring it back up. In comparison how do the two perform. I know the Side Winder is cheaper than the Max but does it have about the same programing as the Max? :\
Reason I am asking is, I want to change my VXL ESC to a CC type ESC. I think there will be less limits to programing. I like the VXL don't get me wrong, especially sense you can change what programs that are preset on the fly.

I can say from experience with the mamba maxx, that i love it, and have had no problems at all with it. I love the ease of programming it.

i believe the sidewinder handles 25% less power. what rig is this going in? more than likely a sidewinder will be sufficient.

Mamba Max is the better of the two, it does not require a castle link to program it, but if you decide to add a Castle BEC to it to increase the voltage going to your servo then you will need a Castle link to program the BEC, in which case you would have it to program the Sidewinder ESC, So it really amounts to how much money you want to spend. I would recommend getting a Castle BEC with either one.

hmmm... Looks like I may be going for the Max then. I figured as much but I guess it doesn't hurt to ask. As for what it's going in, it will be my Slash. I currently have the Velenion set up but I thought about a CC ESC with the traxxas brushless motor.

Thanks for all the input ya'll.;)

they both handle 3s. you can do 4s on the mamba with a bec and a fan though.

I use the mamba maxxx with the velenion motor, its a great combo. Just monitor your temps if running a 3s in tall grass, lipo's dont like the strain.....
