"Inspired" by some of the posts I have been reading on here....I might have known joining this group would costs me some $$$, lol. I have been busy shopping!! Pulled the trigger on what is going to be my first venture into a drag car. Enter the RJ SPEED era of my time in the hobby.

This is the stock advertising photo. Body arrives clear. I have also ordered the esc/motor combo [which I believe fits within the rules for 2s no prep], as well as some other needed components. Also, a couple of fun add ons I don't believe violate any competition stds. Got a GPS speed tracker on route as well to make fine tuning the set up something I can see results in actual data. 132 ft in x time. Let the waiting for usps to bring me stuff begin.....

thats hella cool bro, very nice, this site has helped me drain my account as well lol
Thanks! I have spent a bit more on this hobby than I should have recently. I don't regret it....doesn't make it any less true though, lol. This drag project is shaping up pretty nice by the parts list. This part of the hobby is all new to me so it's exciting for that alone. Mix in the fact I probably spend more time tweaking, tuning and modifying things than driving....which sounds like everything I have seen about drag racing anyway This could be a great time for me.

Me too! From the stuff I see online the rj speed stuff has a borderline cult following. The guys who like the stuff....really like the stuff. Am gonna find out for myself!

RC madness is tits! They do all kinds of different RC racing and events.

But just so you're aware, if theyre running a true no prep dry tire class, that RJ kit wont pass tech because of the chassis setup, foam tires, body style (most nprc are limited to street eliminator bodies), etc...

Now if they have a pro mod, pan car, or drag pan class you'll be good to go.

Also a lot of tracks run an  outlaw 'run what ya brung' class, which can be highly competitive when guys start bringing their modded 4x4 on road cars and big block Jatos running sticky icky on foams and on the track.
If thats the case then I'd say the RJ could still be competitive depending on the surface (with it not having suspension). I think it would actually be a ton of fun in an RWYB/No Limit class.

Either way, its gonna be a sick rig when you're done with it 😎

Damn ball is broken
Don't have the body painted yet. I drove it without a little bit today to see what the handling is like.....either this is really impressive, or I'm A better driver than I thought. If I get a transponder the lhs has a stock class race for these indoors on the carpet track.

I believe @DavidB1126 used to race e a tt02 class

Some of my parts for the drag build should be here tomorrow. Not the car.....so it will be stuff to look at while I wait.....
A lot of the posts here on the tt02 are not great. With 2 minor set backs during the build everything came together well in the end. My enjoyment driving this may be colored by the fact I have been on a crawler binge a while. Or maybe i quietly pat myself on the back and think i must have done a great job with the build...Getting back into on road stuff has been a good experience so far though. When the drag project gets underway that will be my 3rd on road in the collection.
