I've had an Aftershock for around 2 years now (never used it that much). I took it to my local hobby shop so he could show me how to tune the engine for me. He was very good at tuning it . He set my low speed needle for me and told me that it was set properly. He told me not to touch it. It seems to run fine but it keeps stalling every minute or so. He was not sure what the problem was either. He thinks that the engine mite not be fully broken in yet. I think he thought that because my Aftershock is pretty clean. I don't run it that hard, but I know the engine is broken in. I've had roughly 10 tanks through it (just guessing). I broke in the engine when I first got it. If someone can help me out with this id greatly appreciated. Thanks and have a nice day!

if its blowing out tons of smoke ( not just a trail) it could be rich, i would turn high speed an eighth of a turn leaner at a time, but watch your temps they should be around 200 but if its lower thats ok. if you dont have a tamp gun spit on the head and if it sizzles instantly if too lean.

Thanks for the info. I'll try that. I do have a temp gun and i have been leaning it out, but it still stalls on me. I opened it up and hit second gear. I checked the engine temp immediately after wards . It was at 240F. I'm still not sure what else i could try. If you have anymore suggestions or need more info just ask me. Thanks again for your help!

if your at 240 i suggest richening it up half to a full turn your to lean the hotter it is the leaner it is

I've had a few mills that would act like that around 240 so i ran them around 270/280 with no issues.

240 is actually about the ideal temp I always look for. A lot of engines are sluggish below that, and as joneser says a lot of them like to run 270-280. That's where my Traxxas engines ran, and they ran very well.

Thanks again everyone for the help. I'll try to run my Aftershock today. I'll let you know how it goes. Cheers and happy bashing!

I talked to another guy at my lhb and he told me the samething. It was running to lean. Once I richened it about half a turn it seems to be running well (knock on wood). Thanks again for the help guys!
