Alright guys, diffs actually arrived like two weeks ago, got the thing all together. I've got full build pics that I'll post at some other time. For now, here's where the buggy sits:

Alright, just banking up $ for the motor/ESC!! Shorty pack is on the way. Will need some cheaper bash tires before I run it too. Looks so clean now.... Wonder how long that'll last.....

Hope to get more done soon!

Battery for the MKUltra arrived today:

Works, but it's a Low Profile and I didn't know that when I ordered. So, to make do with what I've got, I redesigned the battery posts to be a good deal shorter.

^ You can see the difference.

Hoping to order the ESC/motor, some cheaper tires for initial testing on pavement, and some real wheels for the carpet tires. Soooooooo close!!! Also gonna get some normal shorty packs..... Later.

Man, that is the best looking 3d printed RC I've ever seen. Very nice job!

Finally bit that annoying expensive bullet and dumped $85 into a motor/ESC and some 5MM Bullets. Shouldn't take too long to arrive, but it'll feel like forever......

Prolly gonna upload the diff build pics tomorrow.

Anywho, it's coming. The end is coming. And with ends, there's usually a new beginning somewhere else.....

All the stuff to go in:

As you can see, the bearings are a loose fit on the diffs, so adapters have to be used:

Diffs are actually pretty nice from the outside:

Inside, there’s a ton of gross crap:

Added shims to the outputs:

All the guts:

Time for diff 2:

The grease is so sticky that the gears will just stick together:

Both diffs gutted:

Look at all this grease:

Won’t need these anymore:

Got these printed adapters for the belts:

Diff put back together:

Kinda gross still, not looking for perfection RN, just getting it built.

Continuing in next post:

Could you not find the correct bearings? I fear those printed adapters could fail on ya. What is the diameter of the outdrives, and the O.D. of the bearings, and bearing thickness?

So it's only a 2 gear diff? Wonder what's the differences between how 2 gear and 4 gear preform.
Yep. Guess we’ll find out.

I’d have to measure. They adapters are printed in PETG so they should have a pretty high temp resistance. Never heard of any failing so I’m not too worried about it.

The proper thing to use would be a bearing with the ID of the outdrives, and the OD sized for the bearing journal. Putting a bushing in between the bearing and the outdrive, even if were metal, is not a good idea.

Maybe so, I’ll measure tonight and see if there’s any bearings of this size.

Avidrc.com they have good bearings, cheap prices. $1/bearing. 😉
My order from Avid RC just landed today. 2nd day Fed Ex was on time too! 😎
