First of all, the project looks killer! Second, did you put any type of protectant on the printed parts? Both PLA and PETG don't deal with heat or UV very well from what I've read.
PETG does ok outside. PLA on the other hand turns into the wicked witch from Wizard of Oz if it even sees the sunlight 😅

Great looking build, how thick is the body?
Thanks! I'd guess that it's about 3mm thick? I haven't measured.

Thanks man! Nope. No protectant. The body is PLA but everything else is PETG and that deals pretty well with heat and UV. We use PETG for outdoor antenna housings and it works great. Most people that have built these actually print them in full PLA and say that's what's most durable. I had black PETG so that's what I used. If needed I'll get some black PLA and rebuild with that.
Cool project man! You absolutely killed it! What surface do you plan to run it on?
Glad you like it! Not sure, I honestly don't have any tracks super close to me. Closest track is carpet and that's an Hour 30 mins away. Planning on running this rig there later this month. Also planning on building an outdoor grass/astroturf track at my house for day to day track bashing.

ESC and motor arrived! Got everything test fitted and ready to be soldered up for the first rip tomorrow!

Didn’t get it soldered up today, but the ESC and motor make the car sit a lot lower:

Also learned that the OG body was rubbing the belt so the weird spaceship body will do for now.

Testing a new version of the cooler body:

Did some other fixes that I’ll post later. Sleepytime for me though it’s a weekend coming.

Adjust the shock collars down. You have zero preload. I am going to assume it's going to run best if you get those arms level.

Possibly. If the arms are level the front end is pretty high.

Hey! Just made an account when I saw you were building this, as i’m considering it. I wanted to ask if you had any battery recommendations/specifications? New to this hobby and want to make sure I get the right stuff. Thanks!

Any battery that qulifies as a 'shorty' 2S Lipo pack will fit perfect. (Unless it's a LCG, which I had to shorten the battery posts to fit) I use CNHL batteries cuz they're cheap and good.
