yeah, they definately carry their own tune, but I wouldn't say they are any more or less quiet then brushed motors.

Mamba
The Brushless does sing it's own tune and it's very similar to the Team Orion Elite Modified (coreless) motor.
The Mamba motors do have a very distinct noise under braking though...
