any ideas??
cheers
That should connect your esc to the receiver, not motor. Unless someone did a custom sensored setup.

Got a Honda bike by anychance?

i do.. me and the wife do vintage dirt bike racing.. I've got an 82 (same year as me.. nice) XR200R... and i'll be buried with that thing.
but I've had several throughout the years..
i just accumulated my first yamaha dirt bike tho. a 2000 XT350...
man, look at me go.. i could talk this stuff for hours.. but then we'd get the thread all out of focus. ha!
dont care.. worth it. lol!

so i really looked at it this time.. its not spliced in. its just an rx lead extender like what WickedFog was talking about.

so i dont need it.. but still have the same questions.... WHY??.
its going to drive me nuts until i find out. lol

kinda what i was thinking. but the fan i have.. i forget the brand, but it has the "R" in the middle...
it only has a 2 wire connector.. is that right? how does that plug in to the rx? one side or the other leaving one pin exposed? if so, which side?

You don't need the signal wire on a fan. Just positive and negative.

ok... um... help.

yes.. butt connectors.. i need practice soldering more.. if i even can. my hands shake a good bit. little discouraging if I'm honest.. but i have an automotive background and i know how to put 2 or 3 wires together. so here you go. before anyone asks.. i checked. then double checked. then checked again to make sure all positives and negatives are lined up properly. i also put on a dean t connector because its what everysingle one of my batteries are.
anyway. i plugged one in and it sparked... like big. wth??
well it was plugged in at this point and not getting hot.... checked again to make sure everything was lined up properly. it was. took it off. plugged it back in. no spark. hmmmm.. ok. check...AGAIN. yes. all lined up. screw it.. hit the switch. green light for half a second on the esc. then flashing red....

did i screw something up??
help please

Lots of variations of 'Helping Hands' for holding thing while soldering.
They are def worth owning!

I can only suggest plugging in a programming card if you are sure about those connections.
I have never seen butt connectors used on an rc. I'm sure there are lots of reason why.
I would get rid of those things and try again.

Does your fan work?

i have them too. the iron and the solder bounce all over the place. i just need to practice more. i hope. i know how to weld.. and braze.. but this little stuff is very very new to me. i just dont understand. a proper connection is a proper connection. no it did not

I think its a voltage setting on your esc.
Rule #1 is to verify your power source. We have found a fault in your wiring.
Fix that and re test.
👍

It's a zeee 5500mAh with a T connector on it. I do have a multimeter. But I've taken the butt connectors off already. It was all a bit too short anyway. I'm gonna need longer leads I think. And more practice soldering.
Sucks.
I really wanted to get this thing done! 😒
