I've been considering buying a Losi LMT to add to the fleet, it seems that platform has been out for 3+ years now.
I'm wondering if anyone has heard anything about an update? It would bug me if i bought one, and they released an improved version lol!

Also, very disappointed that they discontinued the roller option for this platform. Honestly i would much prefer a full kit, but the price for the TLR kit seems crazy to me, the roller option seemed to be the best value.

@islandlife I've not heard of any new versions of the Losi LMT coming, but as an owner of a Losi Grave Digger LMT - it's a very solid truck.

Sure there are a few upgrades here and there you can add, but none of them I feel are absolutely required. The RTR is a blast out of the box.

I found a gravedigger on sale last night and ordered it up! I think I'm just gonna order some spare rod ends and a spare axle housing to have on hand. Also might get a different body to run and keep the gravedigger one in good shape.

Well i finally had some time after the kids went to bed last night to open this thing up!
I decided to tear it down so that my kids and i can assemble it all like a kit, and it’ll give me a chance to look everything over.
Got most everything broken down last night, I'm leaving the cage/body assembly and shocks intact, just checking shocks for oil.
Couple of disappointments to note…
-The battery strap has a split in it, which I'm sure will break in no time.
-a couple of shock mount bolts were so over tightened i had to heat them with the soldering iron to remove them.
-the threaded pins that hold the driveshafts and hexes in are so caked in locktight and overtightened i had to heat every one and still the driveshafts were glued to the shafts they connect too. One pin holding the driveshaft to the center diff is even stripped, so i wont be able to remove the center diff until i extract that and replace with a new pin. The shaft that goes on the other side of the center diff i got the pin out, but its so glued to the shaft i’ve yet to het the driveshaft off, despite heaps of heat!

Other than that everthing seems pretty good, decent amount of grease where grease should be, and no other stripped screws etc.

Not sure if I'm going to hassle horizon hobby about the issues or just deal with it, but just another reason why i would have much preferred to buy a kit rather than an rtr… but i just couldn’t justify the cost difference for the TLR kit over the rtr.

Happy to see it has the newer reinforced axle housings. And plenty of grease, and diff oil.
Making decent progress with the little ones helping.
Even though i tore the rtr down last night, i still can't remember the location and orientation of some things haha.
I did print out the tlr kit instructions, but there are quite a few differences in the chassis.
We’re getting there tho, and the kids are having a blast!

The kids and i pulled a late evening last night while mum was out and got the whole truck re-assembled!
Test run and pics later today!
Hopefully wont damage this nice shiney body before my jconcepts body shows up.

Maiden voyage complete! What a fun rig!
Just ran a couple 2s packs through it and its great fun, honestly kind of a mix of the fun of crawling and bashing in a way.
On 50% power is was easy for my 5yo to rip around, and 100% i was having a great time. I imagine 3s would make the wheelies and flips a lot easier, but 2s felt like a pretty “scale” amount of power.
Battery life was pretty respectable for 2s on such a big truck. 5200mah pack probably lasted 15 or more minutes with a mix of 50% and 100% power.
Couple shots next to my stretched capra on 2.2’s for size comparison.
Dont worry, the capra got a bath after the run haha.

Few things done this evening. Added some extra lighting, shoegoo’s some small magnets to the underside of the hood to hold the tiny body clips when they are out. Also removed the sticker on the roof, and the mini flames above the headlights. Might not be the popular thing to do to a scale body, but i like it better!

Swapped the 14t pinion for a 12t (smallest the motor mount will allow),I like the low end gain, and less top speed is probably a good thing for this rig!
Also 3 out of 4 shocks have minor leaks. I'm hoping they were just over filled. I opened them up and checked fluid level, which i did not end up doing during the initial tear down.
Took it out for an evening test rip in the yard after swapping the pinion, looked sweet with the green glow!
