i did a deal on rcu was not paying to good of attention thought i was getting 2.0 but it is a 1.0 is it worth buying parts and converting or is the 1.0 a good begginer truggy

Way to manny parts different to make it cost effective to convert to 2.0. The 1.0 is a good truggy, but it's kinda twitchy compared to a 2.0.

It's not a beginner model at all. It is well built with quality metal. But I would never recommend a "beginer" model to anyone...they're cheap, they break. A beginner hobbyist is gonna crash a bit more often, and a Losi will take hard bashing. They are easy to strip down and repair when the inevitable pin breaks free, or the shock tower breaks from the front diff case.

Watch those. Keep those screws tight, the ones that screw the towers to the diff cases. Lose one screw and the other three can't do the job....and the tab at the top of the diff case breaks. I replaced all bearings and diff case oil last week, very easy to strip down. The sun gears and planetary gears looked like new.
My 14 yr old has a 1.0. Just bought my younger son a 2.0, but I myself haven't had experience driving that one yet, I let his hands stay on the radio, (I don't want to scratch it!!!!)
They're both killer truggies IMO.

thanks

i just scored a chassis new shock towers side plates for the 2.0 on ebay and center shafts all for 51.00 will run it 1,0 and change stuff out later thanks again for answers

I picked up a 8ight T a few weeks ago that needed TLC. I'm in the process of putting back to original. Except for the Flex Tuned chassis, exhaust and motor it will be box stock. Looks good enough for my son to race around on the track with me and parts aren't that expensive. If I were you I would leave it a 1.0
