I just recently finished putting together my losi 22 and have a question on how tight the diff should be. I have read somewhere that it should be hard to turn the left wheel while holding the right wheel and the spur gear at the same time, or about 1/8 of a turn back out from all the way in. Does this sound about right?

Not sure I follow what your saying but unless the 22 diff is any different than any other diff then when you are holding the diff if your hand, say after your done rebuilding it for example. you should be able to rotate the diff cup back and forth and it should be smooth as silk....how much pressure it takes to spin the outdrives will depend on how think your fluid/grease is inside the diff but it should be silky smooth with no grinding.

I hope that helps.

I usually crank it all the way down and loosen it 1/4 turn on my RC-18's that have the MIP diffs.

OK thank you, that is about where I have it. So I must be in the right range.
