sorry for the long post ...

So for christmas my gf says she wants to get me an RC car. and i say FABOLOUS! but id feel bad because shes 18 (I'm 20) and thats a lot of money for her, I'm thinking of asking my parents for one of the new selections... or should i get one from each and have both ? also... am i a greedy bastard for wanting both? i mean , she said I WANT TO GET YOU ONE...

HPI Supernitro
HPI rs4-3 SS
Losi xxxt matt francis *electric*

i drove my friends TC3 over my thanksgiving break with a novak brushless motor, i have to say it was pretty nice. it actually made me get back home and fix my xxxt that i had broken. so now I'm looking at 2 new perspectives ... do i want a gas stadium truck , or an electric TC ? ... how fast can i make a tc3 go with a fast motor/esc, how would i compare to my supernitro with epic 18 and my ss with fantom 15 ? will i be able to smoke them, or will i get smoked ?

i like the instant power of the electrics, but what can i expect from them ? can i get some oppinions of what i should do ?

p.s. i found a track around here that has on road and off road. i havent seen them yet, but the new one i buy will be a racing car mainly. (i still will parking lot bash with it occasionally though...maybe)

Maybe have your parents get you a RC, and then have you girl get you some hop ups for it. That way your girl aint spending so much money and you will have a great starting point for a great vehicle. I myself would go with a nitro instead of electric. They are a lot funner plus I heard that hop ups for an electric are alot higher priced. Hope this helps ya out. Whatever you get have fun.

If you like your GF and want to keep her, don't let her buy you an RC. It is alot of money (I'm assuming she's not some kind of heiress or makes 50k or more a year).

Do like the previous posts says, have you parents buy you the RC and have the GF buy you a few hop-ups that don't add up to alot of money....

Depending on what you are wanting to do. You can get a on road car but you would have to find a decent place to run it. Or you can go off road monster truck like T Maxx or Savage. Most people perfer the off road because you can drive them pretty much anywhere. They are also fun because you can get crazy with them, that is were all the fun is at. Dont forget buggies either, they are awesome. But it all depends on what you want to do.

ok done deal. i talked to her about it and she isnt getting me the car, I'm going to go with a losi xxxnt adam drake... shes going to help me equip it with some nice gear.
