Which truck/car will pull a boat and trailer? Looking at the Traxxas Spartan SR. Want a truck to walk behind which will also go fast by itself. Suggestions?

Don't know if its the spartan but I know traxxas makes a special trailer for it and I seen videos that it can be pulled with a TRX4 (crawler/trail truck) and a Raptor R (basher, long wheel base slash 4x4). That being all Traxxas but you could make a custom or buy a aftermarket scale hitch for any other truck (more for crawlers) to tow it.

Both great suggestions David, I'll research both of those. I'm not a good enough operator for the super fast cars but looking forward to learning more. I'll look in the classifieds too. I'm not a far drive from the Traxxas Home office. I could get them to give me some pointers and help with lights and accessories

I have a Cen racing F450 dually, and a trailer to pull crawlers & a boat. The truck itself gets along pretty good on 3s

I bought The Spartan SR today. While at Traxxas, I ran into Mark Santa Maria. We talked for a while about RC. Great guy, very friendly and talkative. I really enjoy his YouTube Vid's. I'll charge the batteries and get it on the water ASAP. Reports to follow.

Warning: I'm an RC Newbie.

Newbies buy the first round!
:hehe:
Congrats on the new boat!

I had to have the self righting feature. I can't swim:D. But seriously, the pond I will run in is pretty big and I don't have a rescue boat.
I agree on needing self-righting. We have a recovery boat at the float fly site we have, but I'd still prefer self-righting for a first boat

I went to scope out a place to run my new Spartan SR. There is rip-rap (rocks) also so, I need to get a crawler type truck to pull the boat.

First trip was a success. I didn't break anything. Boat is a blast to drive. Plenty fast for me from the factory. Seemed to be very steady and controllable, especially for a new boat driver.

I’ve done more boating that bashing or speed running last few. It’s a blast. Congrats on your new boat! I have a Super and regular Sonic Wake and a 26” recoil. You’ll love the self righting! Let us know how you like it

I love it. Especially on calm days next to the dam. flat water speed runs.
