My TRX4 Sport w/Traxx had never seen anything but the inside carpet, when the ESC stpped working. Then, and I am not even kidding, not one minute after finishing the new ESC install, on it's maiden voyage, the servo stopped working. Upgraded the servo, but replaced the ESC with the exact same one (Traxxas sent me a new one, after having me send in the bad one for them to confirm that it was the ESC that failed so quickly). Both have been trucking along ever since, not even a hiccup.
Not uncommon. Talbot took out a brand new Traxxas in one of his latest vids. The ESC died in less than a few minutes, and he hadn't even started to drive it hard. You'd think they'd get sick of replacing warranty stuff.

To be honest, when I contacted Traxxas about the ESC, the guy I spoke to said they don't really have a warranty, but since the truck was so new they would examine the ESC once I sent it back to them, and if it ended up being bad they'd replace it. I understand their thinking, but still. Same thing happened with the Xmaxx on it's first run. In our front yard, my wife was driving it, it flipped, and I showed her how to push the button for self-righting. She did and the tire came off the rim, and the foam went flying. When I called them, I got the same speech, about not having a warranty, but they'd send me a new tire.

I am sure that those guys have seen enough come through that they can spot a vehicle that was launched 35' in the air moments after it was unboxed, and situations like mine where things just literally broke on their own right away. Given everything my X-Maxx has been through since, and still running like a champ, I'm totally fine with a tire that wasn't glued fully at the factory.

Just bubble wrap the ESC some tape. DONE ✔️ water proof 🤦‍♂️

Use enough bubble wrap also works as flotation

seriously tho. i do get permission before i take rocks, never know when johnny law will roll up trying to ruin my day. the asphalt is from a dead end road thats being pulled up.
just saying,. even tho its often considered rocks on the side of the road,. someone often PAID for those so its a good idea to get permission. just like hunting or fishing, just a psa from the squirell
