Just for the record replacement t-15 sent back to Mirage that makes 3 times!

The problem seems similar...car was running well but stalled abruptly.

I tried to start the engine but the pull cord was tight and the piston would not budge. I thought this may be because it's a new engine pinching. But after putting the flywheel in a vice and turning it I did manage to move the piston but it now feels like the piston is catching (not just at the top of it's cycle) it's imposible to move the piston with the pull start, but only by turning the flywheel. When the piston reaches certain points in the cycle it clicks and catches.

I can't believe this situation...I look after my cars using after run oil, temp guage etc etc.

I wish I just had a tunning issue BUT there is something very wrong with the T-15 I have owned.......has anyone else had a similar 'lock up' with an engine??

I am begining to think I am doing something seriously wrong??

I am unsure if I want a replacement t-15 from Mirage.....

cheers

Well, a replacement is better than nothing. Are they telling you what the problem is or do they just send another one back?

Sounds like your wrist pin on your piston/con-rod is coming out or something.

Does it void the warranty to open it up and look?

Good call Olds....I would break it down mate and see what the goings on it there is. Check all it's bits to see if it all where it is supposed to be. I had a broken piston do that. Snapped one side of when the wrist pins goes through and it was binding things up. Hell with it have a pint......or two. Cheers

The engine is in the hands of Mirage now....so will probably have to wait months before anything gets done!!

I did attempt to open up the backplate but I shreded one of the screws so that was the end of that!

cheers

it is most likely the piston breaking, little pieces of metal start chipping and the motor locks up!!!

you connecting rod also might have bent or cracked

wrist pin might have snapped, but is still held in by the pin clips

or the motor was running to lean and the motor seized, it happens to alot of .15's because they have high rpms!!!

hope i could help
