locked up engine block

well, my step dad's friend just brought a schumacher fusion by. the wheels are hard to turn and i'm wondering if the block is locked up. i've never delt with nitro so idk, I'm looking at maybe buying this car, its in extremely good condition. how do i know if the block is locked up?

Its more likely the diffs then the engine cuz the engine has a clutch on it which only engages when the engine is on and spining

just put some differential oil in it and all is better? this car is in awsome shape. i posted pics of it in the gallery

try to turn the fly wheel by hand. Has the motor been broken in yet?

yes, the car is used, and i stuck an allen wrench into the place to start it, well, not to start it, just to see if its locked and its not. this car is in extremely good condition. what do you think i should offer for iT?

Id open up the diffs and see what they look like. Somethings definatly not right down there. I'm guessing you got a blown diff. The wheels are totally locked up though huh?

no, i can turn them with some force, it just takes some strength and the more i turn them the easier they are to turn so i guess the diffs just havent been turned in a while

nope, just has the normal gear sounds

Not being a smart ass or anything, but did you check and see if the car was shut off while the brakes were applied, and they still are?

Or maybe the axle carrier bearings are rusted up from getting them wet and letting it sit. I've had that happen. Then the more you turn them, the easier it gets.

Or it could be like aj200415 says, the brakes might be engaged.

well..this was last night, in the first 15 minutes i was looking at it. after i put some batteries in the rc and the tx, it worked, haha! no the brakes weren't applied, the servo was at neutral, which just lightly applies the brake...when the brake was applied, there was no turning the wheels at all

yea i guess, so, is there anything wrong with it.....i would check engine compression, the diffs, gears, and all that stuff.....just to show you how it was taken care of...

its been run less than 8 times. the only damage i see is theminor scratches on the bottomof the chassis. i didnt want to mess around to much with it, considering its not mine, but when i turned the engine it was smooth and when i released the break it rolled really well and smooth. i think he did a pretty good job. the only thing i would ask before i finalized it would be if he broke it in properly.
