Lights for your R/C vehicle.

Lessen: if you mean mine then thanks man! I am very happy with them for my first attempt, now on to doing it again but better.

I got almost two whole minutes of driving before the rain/snow started again but as I have balloned most of the electronics I just finished the tank. Also the two body lights failed because of a faulty battery holder, no biggie I was going to change that one anyway.
I snapped six pictures outside (in the forest) but they are not very good, I will post atleast one of them so you can laugh a bit at my photography skills! (looks like a UFO or something).

My light are here!!!!!. i already glued them to the body. I think because my red lights are blindingly bright i can use one to light up the inside and the other one for under the car. alll i need is some wire. Does any one have any wire they are willing to donate?

Done! I will get pics up soon. It is awsome. i need to buy some connector so i can put light later on the bumper and so i can make my break light work. I need conectors so i can remove the body.

All my electronics are from various old computers/smoke alarm/other stuff. If you know someone who collects stuff like this or you know of a place they throw it away, you can find everything you need (connectors/swiches/lower intensity LED`s) there for free - I did

edit: Oh and mine are almost completely redon (lots of canges) and will ofcourse link to the pics when finished (maybe today).

I always strip parts before I throw things away. There's nothing I enjoy more than rumbling through parts bins to do some 'basement engineering'.
It must be a Norwegian thing, PlagueWulf. I thought we might be related.

LazyDave: Yes you're right, they recycle it here to. But if you know where they do it (and preferably someone working there) you can probably score some good stuff there?

Rolex: Yeah, it`s my dad who has always had this obsession of stripping all electronics before throwing anything away! I never understood the need for this before I got into R/C,after this many odd things have found their way into my planes and truck.
Sounds like you have alot incommon with pops Rolex! (He likes scale aircraft, R/C cars/trucks and you're the same age aswell!)

rolex I'm the samne way man. in fact i been thinking about electrical engineering at VT.
One thimke when the guy came to fix our street lamp, i asked if i can keep the componet on top that makes it work and he gave me t a newer one. I ripped those things open. The older mouldel used a photocell to activat a electromagnet that completed the curcit. The newer one didn't, it still used a photocell though.

What kind of batteries do you use (and how many), and are they all LED`s?

PS! Mine will be re-finished tonight, and I found some amazing LED lights in the 20 kroner store (3 dollars and 20 cents). They have a switch, lithium batteries, reflector, screen, waterproof wiring and case and 3 extra batteries - and would probably cost something like 1 dollar 50 cents in USA. Pics coming soon!

I thought of lithium, but they are costly and hard to find at times. I thought of rechargeable lit bats, but very costly. In the end i wen't with four AA. i thought of using the cars battery, but i don't know what the lights will do when the servo working, proboly dim them a lot. Yes they are LED Lights. I am thinking of adding my remaining white lights on the front buper. All acrose it. It should have a good spread of light.
