My car sounded similar to that when the spur gear was destroyed, might be worth taking a look.

I just read that it’s not a Traxxas so I’d check the rear diff

It's not a traxxas it just has a traxxas esc, as the one that came with the car was only splash proof, it's basically a FTX outlaw i believe, but cheaper ?
