This is very common regardless how many members are online.

1. A lot of people are here just to read articles and posts.

2. The forum is heavily spidered from search engines such as Google and Yahoo, it's actually not uncommon to see most of the guests being spiders and not actual people.

what do you mean by spiders and not people, this is prob a stupid question but i'm drawing a blank.

Spiders and bots are programs designed to cruise the internet and search out information. This information is then taken back and used to populate search engines, like Google.

I've been thinkin about the same thing, the amount of guests online at a given time. I don't remember if I ever got a message or something when I was a guest but there should be something that encourages the guests to join the forum... just another suggestion.

Kodama,

Thanks for the suggestion. We're always looking for new ways to increase membership and so far word of mouth and search engines have worked the best for us. There is a message on the side panel menu bar when guests visit asking them to register.

I joined this forum the day I found it. If I had gotten a pop-up asking me to join, that would have annoyed me. This place speaks for itself. It's the best on the net for not only R/C, but also for laughs and just anything in general.

Rolex,

I konw exactly what you mean regarding to pop-up's - I've seen the annoying pop-ups on some forums that follow your everywhere trying to get you to register. I assure you RCNT will never reach a level that low.
