Should I simply dispose of them or are they still usable? Neither smell sweet nor look puffy...and I'd rather not toss away expensive batteries if I can still safely use them.
 
try to charge look at ir . don't leave charged for the next 365.. all depends on whom made them might get lucky. Charge outdoors if possible
 
What about running a storage/balance charge on them, then a balance charge after, keeping watch of the independent cell voltages? Maybe a few cycles of that can bring them back. Definitely worth a shot.
