Those PR Racing cars look cool, I'm gonna look into them more.

How is the 2023 PR S1 V3 FM SPORT 2WD BUGGY KIT? Looks cool, shipping is only 8$, so total cost is like 200$ for the kit (minus Electronics) seems cool. could a basher bug be made out of it?

This is the first time I’ve read a negative opinion on LC Racing. The reviews I’ve seen have given me the impression that the materials and fit of the parts are equal to pretty much any of the race-grade brands worth mentioning.

Looking at their 1/10 off-road wheeler, it looks similar to the modern layout as designed by Xray and copied by AE, TLR, Yokomo, and PR Racing. I doubt I would do any worse if I replaced my B74.2D with the LC10B5. The geometry and tuning options seem to be there. It also has a price tag that reflects this.

The 1/12 looks like the exact same thing but smaller. The 1/14 2WD buggy is also a modern design. I don’t know if there are serious racing classes for these.

The EMB series have a more dated chassis layout; something like that in a larger scale would be dated on the track – but even those have high-grade materials and a good fit according to the people who have reviewed them.

I wouldn’t hesitate buying any of these. Just get a selection of parts you are likely to need to keep it running. (This goes for pretty much any brand these days: you don’t know if the local hobby shop will have the parts you need in stock.)

What mudguards are those? Look slick
Thanks, I just cut them out of some polycarbonate sheet, trying to mimic the mudguards on a Tekno. The Lc racing cars have thick enough arms to add a screw for mudguards while an using existing screw as a second mounting point. They ended up being slightly small so I made new ones and haven’t painted them.

It’s a solid little car, I have 2 teknos, the LC12B1 is legit. That being said I don’t race, durability is very good with this car, and it flies with their “truggy motor”. They have a shorter can motor in the 1/14 sct, buggy, and maybe the monster truck too.

Supposedly LC Racing is what WLToys copied for a few designs, so just think WLToys but made out of decent materials.
One of the wltoys cars. I think its the 104001 if i recall. Idk. Their models with all the confusing numbers are confusing. But I watched a video that, that wltoys cars can use Xray XB4 parts. So its clones of xray xb4 and LC racing.

This is by far the best, and most honest video on WLToys (and off-brand RCs in general).

Yep. I watch ryan when he posts new videos. If anyone i see talks about wltoys I reply with his video explaining they are junk.

There’s a reason why you can get 2–3 WL Toys vehicles for the price of one LC Racing. The difference in quality is real.

My view is based on reviews from Quiet RC, Popalong RC, and a few others who have been detailed enough to convince me.

I am super torn between making my brand new LC12b1 into an SCT or a Truggy style. I think you have enough body shells to speak on the matter, lol!
I'm going to use up to 90mm diameter tires, so I was worried I would have to massacre the SCT body to fit. I also am just bashing, jumping etc and I'm worried that the SCT body might make the COG a lot higher after reinforcing it. On the other hand, I'm worried I will bash too hard with the exposed arms on the Truggy and possibly come up with some of the common LC issues, like CVD bending. Looks wise I can work with either and like them equally. Thoughts?

Man, that is a pretty nice looking kit!

I don’t think that issue is related to the arms being exposed.

I’d rather look at the chamfering on the outdrives and see if it needs a little reaming, limit the droop if necessary, and check what level of camber gain I have. If the cause is what I think it is (driveshafts angled too much to the outdrives) these will fix the issue for sure.

They've been around 10+ years, I first saw them distributed through NitroRCX under the Tacon Soar rebrand. They are not race grade and lack modern geometry + tuning options. If you want to race competitively then stick with a name brand, if you want to bash around and break parts, then have fun with LC Racing for what it is.

Uh what? 🤔

The 1/14 race class is literally Lc Racing. I can assure you these are race grade cars.

You could do both and easily switch between the two. The truggy takes a front shock tower body mount like the sct and probably the buggy mount in the rear. Simply adding rear body mounts to the rear tower lets you put a truck body on it.
I hacked up the sct body’s front fender wells a bit excessively, it didn’t need to be that drastic. I also reinforced it with the drywall tape and flex seal/shoe goo method. It’s a little ripper! Have fun with it, check out phatboies.uk, they have a few good bodies that you can fit onto the lc12.

It is 100% what WL Toys copied. I have a 144001 and ended up replacing everything I could with LC Racing or aftermarket parts because the WL Toys stuff is that bad.

From left to right, WL Toys 144001 converted into a MT, LC Racing EMB-1 and the LC Racing EMB-T Pro kit.
