when sitting at home is it ok to just leave it pluged in??Or should you run off the battery? Then re charge it..

I always leave my laptops plugged in when possible, and I believe you will find that is the case 99% of the time.

its like your rc's if you got a good battery (nmih or whatever) your fine.. i would fully charge and fully discharge a few times just for good measure.. but if you have a nicd battery then you should treat it as one.. but if you have the ability to plug it in the do so.. most of the new laptops have a processor throtle when it is on battery to save battery life.. when it is plugged in its full speed all the time.. when its on battery it speeds the proccesor up when you need it (opening programs, multitasking) but it does have a bit of a lag when doing this.. its a compromise between speed and power, and battery life.. also mine dims the lcd (which i hate) to save power to..

Aren't laptops like cell phones with LiPoly batteries?

Either way, it should have charge limiting circuitry in it to not harm the battery.

Ya mine does have the LiPoly batteries...I just don't want my new LP to blow up...Even though I got a 4 year extended warranty with it

a laptop will shut off the charging circuit when its full.. and only use the juice to run the machine...
mine has a lithium ion battery and i leave it plugged in if i have the capability..

You should be fine. Mine stays plugged in for days on end (laptop on or off). Mine has a "Battery Optimizer" that cycles the battery for optimum performance. I run that at least once a month. It should be in the "utilities" section of your programs
