Whats up everyone, tomorrow I'm making my first Nitro purchase and I'm coming down to the Kyosho Inferno 1/8 Nitro Buggy pictured below.

I can not find how fast it is? I'd like it to be somewhat quick, and I do not mind making upgrades to make it quicker.

I was hoping it would hit around 45mph for my first

Thanks y'all.
Johnny

Likely gonna fall somewhere around 30-40mph, depending on your clutch bell. I should mention that it’s NOT gonna be any kind of “fast” right off the rip. You’ll need to follow the break-in procedure to the letter, and familiarize yourself with tuning, as well as the constant, routine nitro vehicle maintenance. Also, pre-heat your motor to 200F each time you start it, and NEVER forget to rotate the engine by your flywheel to bottom dead center. Good luck, and I welcome to Nitro!! 🍻🤘

Okay, that's pretty decent for a starter nitro. I could easily upgrade after a while ? Are there any other RTR 1/8 Nitros easily available in the US I should look at around $350-$500?

This is brand new? Right? Is it broken in yet?
I would break it in and run it a few times before you decide to buy hop ups for it. 👍
It looks so cool!!! 😎

Well I'm getting it tomorrow brand new and I won't start breaking it in until late April and May when weather gets warmer.

After a while I would like to build it up a little but after a while I plan on investing in a teknos or a Mugen.

Thank you for the advice. I'd like for it to be not Uber fast but to carry a decent speed for jumps and all that, you know not super fast but just enough.

I really look forward to this. I really am excited as hell

As for upgrades, a RACE grade .21, and proper starter box will be in your immediate future. Also stock up on clutch shoes, springs, bearings, and clutch bells of various tooth counts-though I wouldn’t go bigger than a 16T with a .21.. A proper aftermarket pipe, and header will help as well. You’ll want to find something that works well with the motor you pair it with. I will say that the old Dynamite Platinum 053 works very well with just about everything, and is far better than ANY silicone coupler RTR pipe/header.

Also, FWIW-you asked about other RTR nitro buggies… The Inferno is probably the best nitro buggy you’ll find in an RTR setup.. There ARE others, but they’re just not as reliable, more expensive, harder to find parts for, etc..

In time, when you step up to a race grade kit (as you mentioned), you’ll be absolutely blown away by the difference.
