Kobe Case

Ok, so I'm a liar. It seems to work now. Just another case of someone accusing a famous person of a crime and probably guilty by association. Maybe he'll get some time in stir and play in the NBA again only to bite someone's ear off...

all right, first off, she didn't press charges...this is a criminal case not a a civil one, so she can't get cash. She could file a civil later, but for now there is no civil case.

I don't know who said it, but someone in this thread said he didn't think Kobe would do something like that. How do you know, are you personally a friend of Kobe? All you know is an image, a personality that gets portrayed in the media. I hate to tell you this, but image is not reality.

I'm sure he will get off, even if he didn't do it, but that is because justice costs, and Kobe has cash.

I believe her family has already hired civil suit attorneys (source XTRA Sports 1150am in L.A.). On your second point, I believe I said that it is hard to believe Kobe would do this. Being from L.A., you hear and see alot about Kobe (even before this incident happened). It's just not his demeanor. Offcourt, his teammates always say he doesn't party, doesn't really go out when they are on the road, and he's mostly a gym rat. Given this is the image we, as the public, see of him. Then again, we all have different sides to ourselves. It's just a difference on who we allow to see which side.

Kobe has already admitted that he had sex with the girl.

I hope this guy has a prenuptial agreement. I wouldn't be suprised if his wife wants to divorce him after this is all said and done. He might get slapped on the wrist for the 19 year old girl but his wife will be the one who takes him to the cleaners.

I just saw those pics of her. The guy who put these pics up is just getting bombed with so many hits, it's hard to get on the site. I bet he'll be interviewed (radio or TV) on why he decided to post it.

As for Kobe, it's hard to believe that he can put himself in a situation like this. I'm not talking about the infidelity, but the allleged non concentual sex. I mean he's got his father (a former NBA player), he knows how Jordan has been accused of seeing other women, his agent has got to remind him about the women, the veteran Laker players must have talked to him before, and the Lakers' management must have also reminded (either when he as a rookie or 2nd year) him about the potential.

I wasn't referring to this post. This was a good post with good insight. I agree with it.

This was the post I was referring to. While it would be out of "character" (that who he has led us to believe he was) it isn't out of the realm of possibility. Money and fame can corrupt even the most we grounded of people.

My personal opinion is this - regardless of what he is now, for most of his life he has been an inner city, poor kid with no community morals. I would be suprised if this DIDNT happen.

next - as much as police screw things up, for the most part - they are not going to arrest someone this important unless they are DAMN sure they have a good case. What you see in the news is only the part that the cops decided to release - they are the only ones that know the facts. What we are deciding is heresay.

Bottom line - He was charged, and arrested. Thats it. Until he has a trial, he is innocent. Period.

My personal opinion? I think he did it.

Actually he grew up upper middle class, his pops was an NBA player. He spent a good deal of his childhood in Italy where his dad played professional basketball after his NBA career.

his father was an NBA player, but he spent most of his life in the suburbs of LA. Only for a short while, was he in Europe.

thats what I said. He lived in Italy from 84-91. That's quite a bit of time, and then the family moved to Philadelphia. My point is that he never was an inner city kid.

Aren't you a reporter, or do you work for that indenpendant paper in another capacity? Just bustin your balls, but your facts were way off.

When all those other honeys start poppin' out of the woodwork lookin' for recognition, cash or whatever we'll know if this was a habit of his.

No - not a reporter - i run the adult advertising, and classified section.

I stand corrected - dave - i am a HATER of basketball, so i dont really pay attention. but even with the enlightenment of your comments, my original statement, minus that part - is still the way i feel.

At this time - he is innocent until proven guilty. However, i highly doubt the police would have arrested such a prominent star without being damn sure they had a case.

just bustin your balls NA....my thoughts is that he did something, and it was probably criminal. I learned long ago that fame and money corrupts, and sports figures are often not who they seem.
