Sounds like you are pretty close to your Dad anyway Tom. I take it you and he hunt whenever ya can?

Mine was always serious. Nothing but work.
Never ragged me about my hobbies. Was sorta interested in the aircraft. He would ask questions. (He took a few flying lessons in a Cub.) Brought a couple out to show him and he would ask me about building it.
I took the Savage to his house once. Just to run it for my nephew. He was asking about it how this or that worked. Looked it over pretty good, but never got the controls. He was always interested in the mechanical side of something.

Spend all the quality time you can with both parents.
Goes both ways.... If ya can't get your kid into rc, support whatever they want to do.
