I just opened the box and am starting on the build.
Its exciting for me. Up till now I have always driven and raced shaft driven TCs FT TC3s and a FT TC4. I'm not going to document the build like I have done in the pas. I need to get this done so I can race it.

The hardest part right now is deciding what music to listen to while I build. I think Pink Floyd should get me going.

O ya, or even maby some AC/DC to get you pumped lol. Lets see some pics when your done though!

Congrats man.

I can't wait to see it next Saturday.

Pink Floyd ?? Your gonna wake up in your screw tray half way through the first song... :D

After I woke up from my music induced nap I built the difs. Everything was as expected. They sure bagged this kit down. Every step has its own bag so far.

A few things so far have caught my attention. The bad first. In the past all FT kits have had great bearings in them. This kit is all rubber sealed units. For a TC this is surprising to me.

The CVDs are a new design. It comes with nice HD steel units. The difference being that they went from a .05 on the grub screw to a 1.5. No more braking off my hex wrenches on the diffs. The other change is a metal ring that goes around the outside to capture the pin if in fact the grub comes loose. IMO Great design.

The manual dated Feb 07 is showing some errors that arent included in the updated supplement. The servo saver, It usually helps to mount it on the chassis. This step is completely missing.

Other then that, Its a great kit so far. I have the drive train all up and going. Ill be mounting the outer parts of the suspension and the electronics tonight.

sounds like fun eddy!! just dont let it end up like the chris craft..... :D

Congrats man! Sounds like you have the build going nicely. You don't need to mount the servo saver to the chassis.... it just kind of hovers there... reducing overall weight. LOL Of course now you are making me wish I had just waited and gotten the TC5... but really for my application the TC4 should work just fine. I know you said you were not documenting the build... but do you have any pics? I am dying to see this thing. Happy building!

Got the build done to the point that all I need to do is mount the electronics. Picked up the LRP TC Spec ESC and am hanging out till Wednesday for my Novak 4.5 Brushless to come in along with the body.

Its a simple build and is quite elegant in its engineering. Replacing a belt or a dif is mater of 5 -10 minutes rather then 20 minutes or more on the TC4 for a diff or shaft. All the components are accessible as a stand alone without having to take apart half the car to get at something. I'm quite impressed.

I have about 5 hours in the build and see another 1-2 hours to mount the electronics, body, and do the chassis setup.

The chassis as it sits is feather light in comparison to the TC4. I'm excited to get it done and see if I can wreck it next weekend at the races.

Sounds like a really nice ride my friend. Glad everything went smooth as silk. What body did you end up with? Take care my friend and good luck next weekend!

What a thing of beauty! Great job on the build. I'm looking forward to seeing it in action.
