Just got a Nitro Evader ST........

Just wondering what everyone thinks of this truck?? Any issues I should know about? I hear the plastic breaks easy, but they all break at some point... I have a T-Maxx for bashing and live right down the street from a track, so I got the Evader to run there, mostly just on my own time, not in any races yet. Thanks for any help you guys can give me...

I would have to say you made a good choice, as far as breaking, I've gone through 2 steering sevo rebuilds broke the rear shock tower along with the front bumper (I knew it would happen, when the truck is 6' in the air and lands upside down), and burnt through the diff gear. Duratrax has the stresstech 1 year warrenty on those parts (except the diff) so I'm getting them replaced. You should be able to have good time with it and it takes a beating...also just a side note, do not overtighten the diff, you will burn through the gear...

raptorrid - congrats on your purchase and welcome to RCNT!!!

You will see alot of posts down talking to Duratrax, myself included. However, I must admit, for a newbie, or as a daily basher, i think the new evader is a great choice! Very similar to the RC10GT layout. I think the only thing i would tell ya is to becareful about losing your dogbones, and keep that engine running rich, as they are not known for reliability. other than that, have fun!

I know the engine is made by OS.. How does it compare to a real OS and other RTR trucks out there, most come with a .15, this is an .18. How is it powerwise compared to the others?? I still have not broken it in yet, I have been playing with my T-maxx alot. Is the Evader more like a Rustler type or closer to a losi, rc10 truck as far as handling and power??

although it is made by OS, it is still not a true OS. However it is MUCH better than the original duratrax velocity .17 that it came with before. As relating it to the other ST's - yes it is very similar, its not quite up to par with the Losi, AE, ect.... but the new version u got, I've heard is close.
