I'm just stinking mad!!!the only thing my savage was good at was breaking and not starting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:angry:

my stupid savage wont start!

I'm going to take my truck to my hobby dealer for the last time!If somthing else happens I'm going to sell my savage! The only thing i have been doing is running back to my hobby store and problems!

the stinking axial .28 1s engine doesn't want to start!i tried everything i think.
My roto start and glow igniter work fine.My glow plug works fine>I tried setting the idle a little higher and i leaned it a little too!I was going to do my 3rd tank of break in(which is half throttle) and the stupid truck won't start

the truck only starts for a bit.I give it a little throttle and then i set it done to idle for about 10 seconds. Then i did some runs down the road and then you can hear it dying and then it shuts off. Then i try starting it agian and it wont start!

please anyone help from beginners to experts

You need to tune it man. It sounds like you are running it lean. Once you tune it it'll run nicely.

what i thought you have to tune after you break in the engine. Also i don't know the temp but its not running burning hot and there is smoke comming out the engine.i think it is a heavy amount of smoke due to rich settings

Axials come set way too rich. You need to use a hot plug for the first 5 tanks then throw it away. Then put the Axial cold plugs in it. Run a 30% blend fuel with no more than 12% oil in it.
Preheat the engine and loosen the glow plug when the engine is cold until you get 1/2 gallon through it. Tighten it back up as soon as you get a stable idle and the engine clleared out. Do not drive the truck with the glow plug loose.
More than likely it needs to be leaned a lot on the HSN and maybe a touch on the LSN. It's not the truck's fault, it's your lack of experience. We have all been there, including myself. This hobby is not for everyone though, especially impatient people. Question is are you willing to learn? Google nitro engine tuning and break in. Read all you can and it will help I promise.

lol thanks =p i was just mad because the ONLY thing that i was doing is running back to my hobby store for about 2 months. The only tanks thank i fully ran was the break in =p

And yas i am willing to learn=p:D

I found that choosing the right exhaust pipe has a thing to do with the way an Axial will break-in,tune and run...Axial engines do not like pipes with alot of backpressure;-they run so choked and loaded up it gives a false sense of being too rich to the ear and eye and could be tuned disasterously lean very easily. It also does actually choke the motor so bad it loads up alot..Theres 3 needles on the carb that make tuning and finetuning the Axial engine a breeze.I found on my brand new Axial .32 mill upon a pre-install inspection that it was missing the HSN needle o-ring..You might want to do an overall inspection for loose carb and improper carb assembly too..What pipe are you running?Posting pics of your setup would be a help too..

Axial has very poor manufacturing tolerances. All Axial engines will not have the same timing. That's why some run great, some don't. I have had 4 and only one would perform good at 220F. The rest ran like poop unless they where 280F, and even then it was not good performance.

het guys i figured out the problem the hsn was kinda lean so i set it back to factory settings and leaned it out about 1/4 of a turn.go it started and after a while it died out because of improper idle settings =p(also i have to adjust the throttle trim)Thanks for your guys help!.i LOVE this fourm=p:D
