jetting problems

i just got my self a new Force .28R motor the other day (because my other blew up :/ ) and i read the front of the manual and it gave 4 steps to get the engine running. the 3rd step said to close the supply needle valve all the way and open it 2 1/2 turns. i opened up the manual to find which needle was the supply needle valve was and there was none! the only ones it had were the main needle valve of course, an idle needle and a throtle needle valve. the one it showed to be the throtle needle valve was the one that is USUALLY the supply needle valve. so i tryed that any way counting the turns as i closed it. 6 TURNS AND IT STILL WASN'T CLOSED! so i have put it back and cast apon the people of rcnitrotalk to help me PLEASE!!! i desperately need it!

Pretty sure they are referring to the high speed needle (the upper one where the fuel line goes in). If it's a new engine...I would leave it where the factory put it and just fire it up. They purposely leave things rich so you don't blow up the engine while breaking it in.

So here is what I would do:

1. Tear down the engine and inspect it for manufacturing defects (burrs and such)
2. Seal the engine with a good O2 sensor safe RTV Silicone (let it sit overnight after you seal it)
3. Pre-heat the engine to 150 - 200 degrees
4. Start the engine and see if it runs. If it starts and sputters...lean the low speed needle (on the carb slide) 1 hour at a time until it stays running.
5. Adjust the idle so you get a medium to medium-high idle out of it

From there...proceed with your break in.

its all running now but have to use the high needle to tune it all cos this is a one needle carb :/
