If my wife looks at the clock and it is XX:44 she wont leave the house until the new hour starts. When getting a new phone number, license plates or anything with numbers in it if it has 4s in it she will not accept it. She has refused to go into buildings with 2 or more 4s in the address. ALL of our phone numbers have either 8s or 9s in them the more the better and no 4s. xxx-8889, xxx-1818, X99-xxx8, xxx-7688. We had it out when she realized we had 4s in our zip code.

In Mandarin, the word 4 and death are the same word. kind of like peace and piece The more 4s the less luck. The words 8 and 9 have luck attached to them. 7s are fine because 777 means you won money....

DRIVES ME CRAZY!!

Hey Eddy I was wondering how she will deal with being in her 40's or is she just going straight to 50. Or it might just be a rough 9 years for you. Good luck.

the knife thing is if its open hand it back opened.. if its closed hand it back closed.. its more of a return it as you found it thing for me.. supposed to be bad luck.. good point on the gun thing plaid.. i dont handle alot of guns but i would prolly be the same way

anyone heard that if u dreamt of ur teeth fallin u should bite something hard or a tree bark when u wake up cuz if not someone will die

I once heard that if you get a chill out of the blue, someone just stepped on the spot where you died.

As far as superstitions, nah ... too many other things to worry about BUT have any of you heard or remember that "bloody mary" thing?

It's where you stand in front of a mirror and say "bloody mary" 3 times and turn counter clockwise 3 times while saying it and when you look in the mirror she's there. If she's not there, there's a good chance she's right behind you waiting to kill ya. I know it's a childhood myth but I'm still too chicken to prove it wrong.

not too crazy plad I get all weirded out when people point any kind of gun at me, water gun, toys, cap guns, empty real ones, just not comfortable with the situation. Prolly cause I respect them

I do the knife thing as well. And the salt over the shoulder, BTW Eddy if your really good you nail the person behind you in the eye and while they are temporarily blinded you punch em in the nose! :jk: I remember the "bloody mary" thing but always heard it as Mary Wurth (the devil's wife's name). Stand in front of a mirror with the door closed in the dark and say "I believe in Mary Wurth" over and over again. Eventually you scare the poop out of yourself. All my family is Italian, they are full of superstitions.

Back when I worked for Gulfstream we delivered an airplane to a Saudi Medivac unit and it had a #5 in the registration number or a combo of #5 and something else and they said it was bad mojo and wouldn't fly it. What I didn't get was the model number for the plane was G-V, I guess it's ok if it's in Roman numerals.

The only ritual I have is to pat myself down each morning before I leave the house. I check for everything. Tie. Shoes. Belt. Watch. Wallet. Pager. ID. Office keys. Car keys. Sunglasses. Cell phone. I know it sounds weird but there have been too many times that I've gone to work without my belt on or without my watch and it drives me nuts for the rest of the day. I'm a stickler for a complete outfit.
Otherwise I've always believed that my life was cursed enough as it is. Superstitions always seemed a bit empty to me. I'm one of the few people I know that feels right at home on Friday the 13th.

Thats freaky...

Thats SCARY...

I heard that If you stand in a really dark room in front of a mirror with the door closed and put katsup on the mirror. You will see the devil in the reflection. I'm too afraid to try that, soooo creepy.

I never hand someone a loaded gun. Always looked at it a gun safety.
Hate having one pointed at me, though. Be it real or just a toy, I freak.

Sport superstition...

Football (most here call it soccer...no no no)
I always buy my matchday programme from the same guy outside the ground for some reason and I also go to my seat exactly 10 mins before kickoff.

Dunno why it just feels wrong otherwise.

Whenever I find a penny on the ground, (heads or tails) I put it in my shoe. It's supposed to bring me good luck and I'm pretty sure it works.
