It Lives Again!

At long last my tires came in, so now I can share with you the results of about two months of work bringing my Kyosho USA-1 Nitro Crusher back! The old bruiser even has his original Kyosho GS-21R engine back (until I get his Ofna replacement rebuilt!)

A huge thank you to a lot of you for the advice throughout this project and a special thank you to sweetdiesel for selling me the steering servo for this rig! The tips on using oven cleaner on chipped rims and how to dye them really paid off, and I hope you agree.

The one last thing I need to do is work on the Spiderman body (or just replace it entirely), but overall I think it came out pretty good!

Again, thanks to everyone for the assist! The next project on the bench is my father's Kyosho VW, so I'm sure I'll be seeking help as I tear into that one!

wow that looks REALLY nice ...but i wouldnt replace the mill if you have the stock one running i would leave that in ..expessialy if it will be a shelf queen like i think i read before

the spidey body gets trashed quick....I saw a guy buy 2 of them so he and his kid could match.....both bodies got tore up in less than an hour of bashing next to the track in grass.....one of em took black sharpie and drew webbing on the outside of it to make th etheme cleaner...looks cool......and 4U is right what's w/ th e10yard fuel line?

The original body was a traditional pick-up truck one with the USA-1 decals. I still have it, but it's missing the bumpers that came on it. I plan on keeping this mill in it 'till it dies on me.

Yeah, it was run HARD before I tore it down and cleaned it up. I painted the arms a dark blue (Yamaha blue) with that new Krylon plastic paint. I think it came out well, but probably would've cut out one of the coats I put on it. I know it may get chipped when I run it, but this guy is more for show than anything.

As for the additional fuel tubing, yeah, a little too much. As soon as I posted these and when back to admire him again, I realized it was a bit much and took some out.

The engine fired right up, so I let a tank run through just at idle (but I did run it SLOWLY for a bit). Hopefully this weekend I can get it out and let him run a bit harder.
